Through prayer, singing, and playing music, the Worship Team makes everyone who walks through the doors of the church want to become involved in worship.  The Worship Pastor will oversee, grow, and delegate the music ministry of the church to ensure an excellent worship experience.  The worship pastor will be responsible for recruiting, training, and releasing worship ministry.

Anticipated Time Commitments

1.   Preparing for ministry: 40 hours per week; more during special events

2.   Participating in meetings/training: Leadership Development, Staff meetings, rehearsals, auditions, dream team 401, and other minimal as needed.


Worship Team Dress Policy

  1.    1.         Every person filling a ministry position at Bethesda is required to dress modestly and in a manner that outwardly expresses Christian living.
  2.    2.         Dress requirements for this position is modest, specifically clothing should be clean in appearance and properly fitted.


  1. Oversee the entire Worship Teams of the church and future campuses. 
  2. Appoint a team leader, vocal coach, band coach and service leader for all services for the main campus and all future campuses. 
  3. Continually recruit new members for the Worship Team by conducting a minimum of 4 auditions per year.  Based on skill level determines their infuse process.
  4. Listen for complaints from within the team.  Make every effort to maintain unity within the team.
  5. Be a leader with whom the group is comfortable and trusts.  Be a leader that leads with love and care rather than being a drill sergeant.
  6. Keep all confidentiality.
  7. Choose music selections to be performed for each service, as well as new music for all four big events.  Be sure to pray and ask God’s plan in developing this list.
  8. Keep informed on current music methods, materials, promotion and administration; utilizing them where appropriate.
  9. Work with Vocal coach/Band Coach to organize instrumental groups and song leaders. 
  10. Plan and work with vocal coach or Event Choir Director for all event choirs at all campuses. 
  11. Work with Production Team Leader to incorporate videos, power points, lyrics, and etc…to enhance the worship experience. 
  12. Organize, maintain and update the music library via Planning Center Online with the assistance of the team leader. 
  13. Conduct weekly practices for band and vocalists.  Make sure practices are well structured and organized.  Practices should not exceed 2 hours.  
  14. Provide training for band members and vocalists as well as those who have completed Growth Track. 
  15. Select and coordinate congregational songs with sermon topics and seasonal themes.
  16. Arrange music for special services, nights of worship, and revivals. 
  17. Maintain musical instruments and arrange for tuning and upkeep.
  18. Maintain stage appearance. (trash, décor placement, clutter, etc)
  19. Ensure Worship Team Dress Policy is adapted by team members.
  20. Make sure the team is arriving promptly at their designated time before services (Dream Team Huddle) to pray and be ready and in place at the start of the service. 
  21. Work closely with the Production Team regarding all audio, visual, and video  coordination.
  22. Coordinate with the Production Team to make sure that the platform/sanctuary is properly arranged for services or special productions.
  23. Work with the Production Team to make sure that all lyrics and Power Point presentation slides for songs are ready.
  24. Make sure all songs are listed in Planning Center Online for reports (CCLIVI). 
  25. On service days make sure practice and all sound checks are complete at least 30 minutes prior to service time.  It is important to keep stage clear/clean before service begins. 
  26. Beginning services with high energy is extremely important.  This is best achieved when transitioning from opening video into first praise song promptly. 
  27. Work with vocal coach to ensure that different people are getting an opportunity to lead songs at all campuses.
  28. Worship Team should set a goal to learn a minimum of 2 new songs per month and new music for big events (Easter, Baptism, Back To School Blessing, ATM, & Christmas). Also stay current with new songs that are being used in mainstream.
  29. Oversee budget and expenditures for the Worship Team in conjunction with the Executive Pastor.
