Job Description:

Pastor of Student Ministries



Connecting people

Responsible for teaching and youth discipleship

Responsible for curriculum selection and Leader-Small Group Supervision 

Will assist and support the Children’s Coordinator as needed to make the transition from children to youth seamless


Connecting people by developing and maintaining a process of assimilation into the life and ministry of the church


-Connecting and tracking students from their first visit all the way through to serving in the church


-Assisting the Children’s Coordinator as needed, to do the same


-Develop leadership in various student ministry teams


-Helping students discover and develop as followers of Christ 



Connecting through Outreach in the Community 


Work with youth leaders and Children’s Coordinator to provide community events and outreach projects


Build a relationship with staff and students at East and West Alexander Middle Schools, as well as Alexander Central High School


Additional Responsibilities and Expectations:


Exceptional speaking/teaching abilities a PLUS

Administrative/organizational abilities a must

Be able to lead and manage others

Seminary/College Degree preferred but not necessary

Previous ministry experience preferred

Exceptional interpersonal skills are required

Passion for ministering to others with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, ensuring their growth and development into fully-devoted followers of Christ 

Maturing in their faith

Commitment to the Vision, Mission, Purposes and Philosophies of Crosspoint Church.

Support the church leadership and staff



Personal Skills:

Leadership-the Pastor will be able to lead in a variety of contexts (individual, small groups, large groups). He should be self-starter and an initiative-taker.

Relational-the Pastor will have a heart to care for students and children, that drive should manifest itself in the appropriate use of time and finances.

Team Player-the Pastor will work together with staff, both paid and volunteer. The Pastor will communicate openly and effectively with those he works with.



Essential Ministry Responsibilities:




He could preach on a Sunday morning.  The amount of preaching would vary, but would be at the discretion of the Lead Pastor. 



He will oversee the students on volunteer teams and follow up with student guests and new believers. This will include helping them to take the “next step” 

Work with existing and recruit new student leaders to grow our groups spiritually and numerically


Other Staff responsibility



Share in pastoral care along with the other pastors such as weddings, funerals, visitation and pastoral counseling

Be involved in Staff Meetings 

Be willing to transition some roles and responsibilities to or from other staff members as time, needs and gifts require

Youth Trips Events Coordinator/Secure and train Youth Volunteers for Small Groups and Trips

Other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor
