On August 5, 2001 Pastor Clark Mitchell, his wife, Robin, and 34 others gathered in a living room wanting to see God move in a new way in the Norman-South Oklahoma City area. The dream was simple: to see a city transformed one life at a time and
to see a generation changed. What happened next would be just another sign of God’s faithfulness and His true ability to do far more than they could ever imagine, guess, or request in their wildest dreams! What began with 36 would, in one month’s time, become
more than 550 people pursuing the heart of God and chasing after those who did not know Him!
Throughout the years the vision to see cities transformed, one life at a time, has never changed. Today, JourneyChurch is a community of thousands of people committed to creating cultures where people can experience God and His life-transforming
power. They have seen people live into their God-given potential and dreams, be empowered for Biblical leadership, and break the cycle of poverty in their lives.
JourneyChurch is looking for a young, energetic, enthusiastic leader to be one of their worship leaders. The ideal candidate has at least five years experience leading congregations of 2,000+ and is currently willing to commit to at least two years
of ministry with JourneyChurch in order help develop potential youth worship leaders, provide oversight in all youth worship venues, create a thriving environment of worship within the Lifestream venue, a part of Journey’s College ministry, and lead alongside
the Worship Pastor in the Sunday worship venue.
The Worship Leader will serve the church and the community by making an impact in worship venues on and off the campus and by helping to create a dynamic weekly experience for college-age students through worship and the Word. The goal is to build
a strong worship culture and community within Creative Journey Worship ministry as well as in all worship venues that are a part of JourneyChurch. Discipleship ministry goals and recruitment strategies will be necessary to strategically meet goals in developing
potential youth worship leaders. The successful candidate will have a constant and consistent devotional life, including a strong sense of leadership with necessary skills to scale. They will be responsible for supporting the ministry with leadership, vision,
and prayer for a growing worship culture.
Success in this position will be based upon:

• Creating consistency and chemistry within the band and worship ministry as a whole
• Recruitment and development of potential youth worship leaders
• Quality and consistency in youth worship venues where oversight is provided
• Strong support through worship in the Sunday experiences.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry or similar field, with at least 2-3 years of full-time ministry and leadership experience leading a church or ministry consisting of over 200 weekly attendees. Proven experience in engaging
teaching, creative thinking, problem solving, and collaborative leadership in a fast-paced, innovative environment is strongly recommended. The candidate should be able to play and lead confidently with an acoustic guitar.
