Job Description:

Rock Bridge Community Church is actively seeking a full-time Associate Pastor – Generational for our Hixson Campus.  Candidates must have the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, work well within the organizational structure of Rock Bridge, and have the ability to lead communication and administration functions of the ministry and participating in overall ministry execution.  The full job description is posted below.  If you have the necessary skills to be a part of our passionate, fast-paced environment, please send your resumes with references to by April 30.



Associate Campus Pastor Hixson ­ Generational:

To glorify God by connecting people from all walks of life to life in Christ by championing the “live sent” expressions of Rock Bridge locally and globally.


Reports to : Multi­Campus Director of Children’s Ministry (first 6­8 months). Hixson Campus Pastor (after 6­8 months)


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Passion for ministry to children/students and seeing parents and children and students grow in the faith.

  • Growing relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced by action, attitude and behavior.

  • Ability to fully embrace the vision and values of Rock Bridge.

  • Possess the ability to embrace innovation and creativity while adapting to growth and


  • Will build relationships with leaders through weekly communication and volunteer care

    by communicating vision and strategy.

  • Will recruit new leaders regularly and help new members find their optimal volunteer


  • Will lead and prepare weekly children’s and student services, including teaching as

    scheduled, resourcing small group leaders and creating quality environments for

    fellowship, worship and discipleship.

  • Will work with Children’s Ministry lead team and Student Ministry lead team to produce

    special events like Adventure Week, WinShape Camp, Disciple Now, retreats, camps,


  • Will build volunteer teams to assist with administrative tasks (check­in, follow­up, etc)

  • Possess the ability to use appropriate judgement, discretion, sensitivity and


  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain healthy and motivating

    relationship with supervisors, co­workers and volunteers.

  • Facilitate, manage and encourage with weekly facilities set up and take down.

  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.

Key Results Areas:
  • Develop and implement the vision for children’s ministries and student ministries in collaboration with the Leadership Team.

  • Provide strategic leadership and planning initiatives for CM/SM volunteers.

  • Offer pastoral care and encouragement to CM/SM volunteers.

  • Develop processes necessary for effective CM operations (check­in).

  • Recruit, train and empower leaders, teachers and servants for ministry with children and students making sure nursery through 5th grades are adequately staffed, small groups are effective and large group worship is excellent.

  • Provide monthly reports to Campus Pastor.

  • Meet weekly with staff for goal setting, reporting evaluation, problem solving and prayer support.

  • Interpret and communicate the vision of the children’s ministry and student ministry throughout Rock Bridge Hixson Campus.

Personal Responsibilities:
  • Uphold the Rock Bridge value of “striving for excellence” in witness, example, service to others and worship of God; scripturally, this is defined as living “above reproach” (I Timothy 3:2).

  • Follow a consistent rhythm marked by “be” time and practicing the spiritual accelerators.

  • Give at least 10% of income to Rock Bridge and participate in all special offerings.

  • Continually seek to understand and embody the Rock Bridge “DNA” (Mission statement

    + Guiding Values).
