Team: Family Ministry
Full/Part Time: Full Time with benefits available
To work under the direct supervision of the Lead Pastor of Family Ministry and in cooperation
with the Family Ministry Team of the church staff in carrying out the five functions of the New
Testament church: worship, evangelism, discipleship, fellowship and ministry for the church.
Fundamentally, the Student Pastor will lead the team responsible for ministry leadership with
middle and high school students and their parents.
To cast vision and develop a comprehensive Student Ministry for families of Rolling Hills
Community Church as well as the community around us, and to implement this plan as a
member of the RHCC staff team as one who leads, nurtures, and serves the overall church
body as we endeavor to fulfill the mission and vision statements of the church and Family

Specific Job Descriptions:
•Cast Student Ministry Vision with Family Ministry as a whole in mind.
•Represent Student Ministry vision and values in Family Ministry capacity
•Communicate Student Ministry vision, along with Family Ministry vision, down to your
team and volunteer leadership structure, up to your leaders, and out to parents and the
community surrounding Rolling Hills.
•Develop Opportunities to Expand Team Learning and Equip volunteers
•Develop a team of leaders to teach and nurture students 6th through 12th grade.
•Utilize various books, conferences, and other leaders to maximize growth opportunities.
•Be the lead learner for your team, always motivating everyone toward a highly teachable
•Continue to discover and implement ways to train volunteers to be fully equipped in
•Always look for ways to encourage all volunteers and student ministry staff.
•Create and nurture “community” for your staff and volunteers.
•Partner with Parent to elevate their roles as the Primary Disciple Makers of their

•Continue to evaluate the process for how your team engages guests.
•Lead your team in developing a follow up system that will engage families at RHCC.
•Lead your team to manage gaps between age transitions from elementary to middle
school, middle school to high school, and high school to college.
•Inform all volunteers of best safety practices and behaviors when leading teens.
•Plan the Budget. Manage the Student Ministry spending and budget allocations to
ensure ministry stewardship, growth, and goal achievements.
•Clarify Wins and Gauge Effectiveness for Student Ministry
•Evaluate and measure success for programs, teams, ministry events.
•Identify areas of growth and blindspots in ministry.
•Identify ways to engage the youth culture and reach the next generation.
•Provide support for teens to reach their schools for Christ.
•Create and monitor ways for students to serve the Body of Christ. This includes
discovering, understanding, and successfully utilizing their individual talents and spiritual
•Involve students in local, state, national, and international missions. This includes
maintaining an intentional pipeline for students to grow in their understanding of and
experiences in missions.
•Implement a comprehensive mission strategy for progressing students in missions from
6th grade through high school.
•Create ways in how to reach non-churched families in the greater Nashville/Franklin
•Coordinate and lead events designed to reach out to new students, disciple maturing
students, and include their families.
•Oversee all content development for Student Ministry
•Lead Student Team to plan/write/ideate midweek sermon series
•Lead in development of outreach and discipleship event themes and content
•Oversee scope and sequence for student ministry small group curriculum.
In addition to responsibilities to specific Student Ministry Leadership, the Student Pastor will
serve on the larger Family Ministry team. As we seek to shepherd the whole family, it will be of
the upmost importance that each person on the Family Ministry team supports the other.
1.The RHCC Student Pastor is expected to live an exemplary life modeling the call, character,
and competencies of a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
2.The RHCC Student Pastor is expected to be a servant leader to his or her staff and teams of
volunteers, the families, and the overall church body.
3.The RHCC Student Pastor is expected to reach new families for Jesus Christ.
4.The RHCC Student Pastor is expected to grow personally in their own leadership and
ministerial abilities by reading, attending conferences and having godly and professional
mentors in their life.
5.The RHCC Student Pastor, and his or her family, is expected to be involved in the overall
life of the church body by actively participating in a community group and all other
church-wide events and functions.
6.The RHCC Student Pastor is expected to be an excited and contributing member of the
RHCC staff team.
Responsibility: Responsible to the Lead Pastor of Family Ministry and the church body of
RHCC. Performance review every 6 months with the Lead Pastor of Family Ministry based on
work as related to this job description as well as the effectiveness of reaching families for Christ
and involving them in the life of Rolling Hills Community Church.
1. Education: College-level undergraduate degree; additional education is preferred.
2. Experience: Minimum of three years in church-related ministry or the equivalent experience
in working with children in other venues.
3. Spiritual: Must be a professing Christian with a true calling and passion for ministry and a
member of Rolling Hills Community Church.
This is a full-time position with benefits in line with the overall church budget. This includes
health insurance, vacation time, sick time, raises and all other items specific to employee
benefits. Annual salary review will be given once a year.
