Pastoral Care Minister

1.5. Experience dealing with issues common to senior adults (assisted living decisions, funeral services,
health issues, etc.)
2. Standards of Employment
2.1. Supervisor: Associate Minister and Executive Minister
2.2. Work Week: Part-time salaried position, including a minimum of 20 hours per week.
2.3. Office Procedures: As noted in other documents. There will be an annual performance evaluation,
including appropriate, consistent feedback.
2.4. Compensation: Starting salary per job offer letter.
2.5. Other Employee Consideration: as defined in other documents
3. Position Concept and Primary Purpose
3.1. To serve the church through pastoral care, planning and implementing the ministry to senior adults,
and assisting with guest connections.
4. Responsibilities Include:
4.1. Cultivate relationships with and act as the primary spiritual leader to senior adults.
4.2. Develop new active opportunities for senior adults.
4.3. Oversee volunteer leaders to coordinate senior adult social events, service projects, studies, trips,
4.4. Coordinate church hospital visits with elders.
4.5. Provide staff oversight to GriefShare ministries.
4.6. Perform and assist with funeral services as needed.
4.7. Organize 4 church-wide prayer initiatives per year as described in current church objectives, in
coordination with church staff.
4.8. Assist with guest connection effort on Sunday mornings.
