The Crossing is a church for people from all walks of life and backgrounds. Since its inception in 1988, The Crossing has sought to make a positive difference in their community with the love of Jesus.

Operating under the 26-year-long leadership of Lead Pastor Tim Celek, The Crossing Church is thriving with 1,500 in regular attendance, and has established its presence as a flagship of hope in the community of Costa Mesa. Its longstanding value that “People Matter,” continues to be characteristic of its new guest/member assimilation, influential ministries, and extensive outreach work across the region and the globe.

The sole purpose of the High School Pastor is to lead students into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, while inspiring and equipping them to develop a faith of their own.

The High School Pastor at The Crossing Church will design and build an effective High School Ministry that attracts high school students, and integrates them into the life and mission of The Crossing Church. This individual will be focused on both the discipleship and evangelistic growth of the ministry. The ministry is poised for growth, so the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape and mold it within the broader vision of the church. It is the desire of The Crossing to see the High School ministry grow and serve, not only within the walls of the church, but also outside in the community in an outreach capacity.

Although a college degree in a related field of ministry is preferable, a seminary background would be a plus. The ideal candidate’s skills/experience will consist of:

  • Two years of experience in youth ministry.
  • Proven leadership development track record.
  • Demonstrated success in volunteer recruitment.
  • Ability to function efficiently and professionally amid the pressure of continual interruptions.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently and dependently, make decisions, and handle confidential information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team oriented attitude.
  • Ability to relate with volunteers, staff, and congregation with an approachable and adaptable disposition.
  • Trustworthy preservation of confidentiality in the management of conversations, records, and financial data.

Costa Mesa is centrally located between Los Angeles and San Diego, minutes from the beach, in California's sun-drenched Orange County. What was once a farming community has evolved into a robust local economy that generates tax revenues of roughly $100 million annually. Today, as a suburban region of almost 113,000, Costa Mesa offers world-class shopping, arts, and dining as one of California’s most eclectic and vibrant cities. It is home to the world-class Segerstrom Center for the Arts and South Coast Repertory Theater. Costa Mesa is also the capitol of the action sports industry. The city’s diverse dining scene has earned the award from Rand/McNally and USA Today as being the best small town for restaurants west of the Mississippi River. Its creative bent has given rise to two counter-culture retail developments, and a cutting edge, environmentally friendly shopping center. Costa Mesa residents enjoy a mild Southern California climate. The city's location provides easy access to many of Southern California's major attractions, including beaches, mountain areas, high and low deserts, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Palm Springs, and Los Angeles.
