Gathering: A Community Church in Thornton is a Bible believing, diverse congregation meeting in a highly visible facility, minutes north of Denver. We have a passionate, cohesive Leadership Team of staff and elders that need a pastor who can provide the vision
and leadership to equip and encourage the entire body to serve as Christ served. Initially this position would be part time, but as our impact grows so will our need and ability to support a full time Lead Pastor. If this sounds as exciting to you as it does

The Lead Pastor’s responsibilities will include:
Prepares and delivers Bible-based sermons that are relevant and challenge members and un-churched alike to become fully devoted followers of Christ with a passion for reaching our community with the transforming love of Jesus.
- Vision, Creativity, and Strategic Planning
Takes initiative and exhibits creativity while working with staff and leadership to ensure the development and implementation of action plans to achieve the vision of The Gathering. Provides training and schedules leadership retreats for this purpose.
- Leadership Development and Discipleship
Takes the initiative in recommending and implementing actions that fulfill the vision and mission of The Gathering. Provides for overall training, inspiration and motivation of The Gathering staff and ministry leaders to ensure that they are maturing in
their faith, growing in their relationships with each other, and upgrading their skills. Inspires staff and ministry leaders to strive for high goals through their development and implementation.
- Congregational Relations and Pastoral Care
Assists with maintaining a "shepherd" ministry and raises up leaders to oversee and implement same, including hospital calling, reacting promptly to emergency/crisis situations, conducting baptisms, weddings, and funerals as requested and needed.
To be in alignment with our church’s beliefs and culture, the Lead Pastor should:

· Desire to build a community within the church that models how believers should care for one another
- · Have a missional vision toward the community and the world
- · Be dedicated to their calling and God’s work, but not take themselves too seriously
The ideal candidate will have theological training and experience with teaching, pastoral care and ministry leadership. Computer literacy is required
