There is an opening in our growing small/medium size church in the Lake Norman Area to lead our vibrant children's ministry of about 50-60 kids . We are a non-denominational church. It is a permanent, part-time position that could grow into full-time.
Ideally it would be a husband/wife team that would share the leadership, but the position is open to any qualified person. For the right person(s) with qualifications, we would issue a minister's license that would enable the salary paid as housing allowance
which brings positive income tax benefits.
Reports to lead pastor. Requires a commitment to become part of our church family.
Research, prepare and provide current Bible lesson to K-5th grade and Pre K volunteers;
Schedule all volunteers weekly, four weeks in advance and send out requests to serve;
Regularly identify, recruit and train volunteers, and ensure background checks are submitted and current;
Attend Leadership Meetings once a week. (free child care provided)
Serve personally in the Sunday classes one to two times per month;
Welcome and greet families on Sunday mornings;
Assist families, especially new families, with Check-In system;
Manage ministry budget;
Purchase supplies including arts/crafts, paper, Bibles, Nursery supplies, snack and juice;
Coordinate outreach opportunities by planning community children's activities 2X per year.
Communicate pertinent ministry information to parents and families as needed;
Be willing to help volunteers who have last minute scheduling conflicts; and
Be able to provide ideas that promote the betterment of the program
10 hours max per week average. Some of these hours will be at church, some can be from home.
4 weeks paid PTO each year.
