Position Description


Eastmont Church is seeking to fill the position of Eastmont Community School Principal. Our school Principal serves on the staff of Eastmont Church to oversee the ministry of Eastmont Community School (ECS). This individual will have a strong walk with Christ, will be in agreement with Eastmont’s Statement of Faith, will sense God’s leadership to ministry in the area of Christian education and will demonstrate the spiritual maturity requirements of 1 Timothy 3:8-13.


Eastmont Community School serves Preschool – 5th Grade and has a current attendance of 165 children. The vision of ECS is to nurture each child to realize their mental, emotional, spiritual and physical potential by providing academic excellence in an affirming, Christian environment. The Core Knowledge Sequence is used as a curriculum guide. The school thrives with strong parental involvement and small class size.



Overall Duties


  • To administrate all programs and activities at Eastmont Community School
  • To recommend to the ECS Board of Directors additions and changes in policy as needed
  • To provide staff with written evaluations on an annual basis
  • To recommend staffing additions and changes to the ECS Board as needed
  • To understand and nurture the unique relationship between Eastmont Church and ECS
  • To meet regularly with the Lead Pastor and ECS Board
  • To provide professional development and support for teaching staff



Preferred Qualifications


  • Oregon State Teaching License
  • Masters Degree in Administration or License of Administration
  • Preschool familiarity and Elementary teaching experience
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Successful experience in effective instructional leadership, curriculum, assessment and
    staff development
  • Knowledge of budgeting
  • Eastmont Church member (while on staff at ECS)

  • Ability to develop a climate of caring and compassion throughout ECS
  • Ability to foster a climate of high-achievement for students
  • Knowledge and understanding of early childhood development
  • Experience in effective leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to handle relational conflict

  • Strong personal walk with Jesus
  • Full buy-in to the mission and vision of Eastmont Church
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and flexibility
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member, as well as create camaraderie among staff
