Job Description:




The Worship Leader will serve the church by developing, coordinating and directing a professional, effective and creative music program for LHC by providing leadership to staff members and volunteers involved in this ministry. The Worship Leader will also work to support the Worship Director in providing leadership in the areas of music composition, as well as planning and producing all services.




To be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the individual hired




Assist in the creative music process for the LHC Creative Team, including the following:


  • Consult with Worship Director regarding theme of each service, special programs and events
  • Assist with the recruitment and rehearsal of members of the worship team
  • Coordinate performance schedules for the teams
  • Assist in writing new worship music for LHC
  • Take lead on ProPresenter lyric input and creating service music playlists
  • Work with worship staff in programming and directing the flow of weekend services
  • Stay up with current trends of this ministry. Musical sound, feel and direction must be current and in line with the vision of LHC
  • Work with Worship Director regarding weekly music selection
  • Assist in organizing rehearsals, song selection and transposition of music for the weekly services
  • Work with Worship Director in establishing goals and budget for the music ministry
  • Lead worship at multiple ministries and services throughout the week




  • Minimum 3 years musical leadership/composition background experience
  • Strong vocal talent
  • Enthusiastic, personable and youthful presence when leading worship
  • Strong organizational, administrative and leadership skills
  • Dependable, responsible, creative, self-motivated and punctual
  • Ability to execute and cope with ambiguity
  • Ability and willingness to accept and execute changes required by Worship Director
  • Ability to lead worship and to train others in leading and worshiping
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Thrive in a culture of critique
  • Skilled as a team leader and mentor
  • Proficient with Planning Center Online, ProPresenter, Apple Pages and Numbers as well as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to guide volunteers and motivate musicians and technical personnel
