The Sr. Pastor will be responsible for providing spiritual leadership and vision to the congregation and proclaiming the gospel, as well as ensuring that care is provided to meet the needs of the church and community. The successful candidate will not only be a teacher who is gifted in expositional, relational, challenging, and culturally relevant Bible teaching and preaching but will also have a proven history of leadership as well as developing leaders as a key role to furthering God’s kingdom.


Known for its streets lined with massive live oaks, Mobile is a picturesque city at the mouth of the Mobile River. The church is in located in a lovely area that features family-friendly neighborhoods with all the amenities you could want—and Mobile's cost of living is consistently one of the lowest of the 80 mid-size U.S. metropolitan areas. Additionally, the city's mild, semi-tropical climate makes outdoor activities enjoyable year round. Thanks to the Gulf of Mexico air, summers are consistently warm and the winters are mild, with approximately 219 days of sunshine every year!

  • Primary responsibility of the Lead Pastor is to give himself to the ministry of the Word and prayer, seeking to walk uprightly before the Lord in his personal life while seeking the mind of God on behalf of the congregation
  • Serve as the spiritual leader of the body by preaching and teaching the Word that challenges through engaging, relevant methods
  • Lead the Church to engage in worship, evangelism, education and ministry
  • Serve as the primary communicator of the church’s vision to staff, congregation, and the community at large; ongoing of casting, developing, and implementing a compelling vision
  • Demonstrate a servant’s heart, ministering to and serving the congregation and the community for the sake of Christ
  • Advocate and urge the targeting and winning of the lost and unchurched
  • Lead the congregation, the organizations and staff in the performance of their tasks
  • Advise congregation to responsible Biblical use of time, talent and treasures through stewardship development
  • Support missions by working with the pastoral team to adequately guide the Church in becoming a mission-focused church
  • Develop, disciple, lead, and engage on a daily basis people of different personalities, backgrounds, and issues in the church and the community
  • Coordinate and runs the weekly staff meetings and other activities in the execution of set goals and objectives
  • Perform other administrative and pastoral duties as needed


  • Degree from an accredited Seminary
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ current ministry experience with speaking/preaching duties; with stable longevity in previous positions.
  • Demonstrable success in growing a ministry, both spiritually and numerically
  • Ability to communicate the truths of God’s word to the congregation that challenges in an expository, relational, relevant, and equipping manner
  • Leader developer who works well with team leadership and is a leader of leaders
  • Vision caster; envisions long-term strategy and serves as a catalyst for moving the vision forward
  • Socially engaging, warm, interactive, and relational—visible. Accessible, and real
  • Good organizational and administrative skills, including an understanding of the budgeting process and budget planning
  • Ability to manage without micromanaging the leadership teams
  • A shepherd’s heart to minister to the church and the community
