MinisterSearch ( is delighted to provide an opportunity for NextGen Pastor candidates to serve at a great church in a vibrant suburb of Dallas. This position will lead in a cultural environment that values authenticity/transparency, the church as a healing, not just learning, community, individual spiritual transformation in the context of small groups, and community impact and involvement.


The role of the NextGen Pastor is to provide pastoral direction and care to the young adults (18-35's) of the church while ensuring that the ministry objectives of the church are effectively and efficiently attained. This position is very much a “connecting ministry,” ensuring that young adults in the church are sufficiently connected to God and to each other. This person will be tasked centrally with leading young adults to a complete commitment to Christ and to missional living, especially in the local community.


This Ministry has both large group and small groups. Their Pastor will be someone who is a visionary, a strong leader, teacher/communicator, and a relational person who enjoys being with all types of personalities. Additionally, the successful candidate will have demonstrable success in ministry and be strong team builder who is very connected to this age demographic.


In addition to being an innovative church, their location in a lovely suburb of Dallas is ideal. The city has a rich history, but has become known for being at the heart of a significant employment center, the telecom corridor area. It continues to be a vibrant community in which to live and work, staying current because of the local emphasis on economic development and neighborhood integrity.

  • Provide pastoral direction and care to the young adults (18-35's), ensuring that the ministry objectives of the church are effectively and efficiently attained
  • Provide vision and leadership for all major events connected with young adult ministries
  • Serve as lead, together with Worship Pastor, in overseeing the overall strategy and direction of the contemporary worship service
  • Lead the programming and planning for the college age ministry of the church
  • Lead/teach/equip/disciple young adults into a growing relationship with Christ through various means and events
  • Co-develop the Small Group ministry of the church with special emphasis on young adults Small Groups
  • Strategize, implement, and oversee evangelism efforts for young adults
  • Provide and direct the atmosphere of young adults ministry venues where people will be warmly welcomed and experience authentic community
  • Develop strategies to communicate effectively to that particular age group
  • Lead the volunteer ministry teams to strategize, plan, and implement all efforts at leading young adults to a complete commitment to Jesus Christ.
  • Ensure that the church’s young adults are effectively assimilated into the fellowship of the church and engaged in ministries and leadership positions.


  • Four-year Degree from an accredited College or University
  • Experience as a dynamic leader with demonstrable success in teaching/communicating with young people
  • Proven history of ability to develop and grow a healthy ministry
  • Musical and creative competence and/or appreciation
  • Christ-rooted, visionary with track record of communicating, developing, and successfully executing the vision
  • A shepherd’s temperament; servant-leader/mentor attitude and inclination
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enjoys being with people and has the ability to communicate persuasively and compassionately, both orally and in writing
  • Personal initiative and diligence which produces follow-through in tasks
  • A heart for God that is evidenced by proven character and a spiritual-mindedness that understands that “apart from Christ we can do nothing”
  • Strong biblical foundation for wise management in a church setting
  • Able to establish and maintain appropriate standards for the accomplishment of ministry in a way that honors both God and people
