JOB SUMMARY (Full-Time Salary)

The Children’s Ministry Director is responsible for setting the tone and establishing an environment that is intentional in teaching and implementing biblical principles. The primary responsibility of the Children’s Ministry Director is to develop and lead an effective Volunteer Team that shares Cornerstone Family Church’s vision of connecting children and their parents with God, each other and the world. The Children's Ministry Director also needs to ensure that this vision is translated into a creative, energetic and fun way that will inspire the Preschool and Elementary age children. This responsibility includes planning, researching and implementing Think Orange 252 Basics and First Look curriculums, as well as recruiting and equipping volunteers with the tools necessary to build relationships with families and their children.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Create a welcoming, safe and irresistible environment for children to learn about Jesus while adhering to the Child Protection Policy

Follow Family Life process to create a healthy culture for volunteers by recruiting, training (Lead Small) and leading in a manner that is relationally engaging, encouraging (celebrates wins) and empowering.

Effectively communicate the vision, values and strategy of Cornerstone Family Life with parents, volunteers and staff

Build growing relationships with families to foster the child’s spiritual growth and equip parents with tools that connect what happens at church with what happens at home

Meet regularly with volunteers for prayer, planning and making assignments related to evangelism, outreach, fellowship, ministry and Bible teaching

Lead efforts to enlist and develop new leaders

Develop, manage and review the Preschool and Kidz Connection ministry budgets

Ensure Children's website is updated at least monthly with Sunday curriculum, small talk cards, memory verse and bottom lines

Lead and attend regular meetings:  Weekly: Church Staff, Family Ministry Team, One-on-One and Volunteer Huddles;  Monthly: Lead Small Training, Small Group

Plan, organize, promote and oversee annual camp experience for 2nd through 5th grade children

Effectively communicate with parents, volunteers and leaders

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

Flexible schedule, with primary work days being Sunday through Thursday

Must be 21 years of age

High School Diploma or equivalent

Complete Level 2 background check

Maintain a teachable, submissive, positive, creative and flexible spirit
