Founded by Pastor Kevin and Tanya James in 1994, New Community Bible Fellowship is a non-denominational Bible teaching church located in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. What began with just 15 people and a vision was to establish a church that would reach unchurched people and help them fully live a life of joy and purpose, New Community Bible Fellowship has grown to a congregation of over 3,200 members.


New Community Bible Fellowship is a congregation that is dedicated to reach people of all ages, races and backgrounds in order to continue to reach the city of Cleveland for the cause of Christ!


The Director of Care and Membership will be responsible for encouraging the growth of spiritually healthy families through providing leadership, outreach and discipleship while executing the vision of our church. Other responsibilities include the assessment, development and ongoing maintenance of systems in the areas of family and membership care, prayer, assimilation of new members and biblical counseling.


The following is a glimpse of the wide range of expectations pertaining to the position that includes responsibilities in Membership Care & Prayer, Assimilation of New Members, Biblical Counseling, Worship Service and Ministerial duties:

  • Develop strong systems for recruiting and deploying volunteers within the Membership Care & Prayer Ministries.
  • Develop an end-to-end, intentional path and plan which keeps guests moving forward from their first visit to their full assimilation into New Community Bible Fellowship.
  • Provide families with biblical discipleship and counseling if/when the need arises as well as come up with a reporting system that will allow the Senior Pastor and the Executive Director to stay abreast and well informed of all counseling needs from the membership.
  • As needed, assist with Sunday morning worship services by means of prayer, announcements, Lord’s Supper, tithes and offering.
  • Devise, implement and lead a systematized approach for church wide assimilation through our New Members classes, Small Group Ministry and Ministry Service.
  • Create and implement an effective process of assimilation and discipleship resulting in fully connected and contributing families and members of the New Community Bible Fellowship body.  


The prospective candidate will provide strong leadership to every assigned area in the ministry, including the aforementioned responsibilities. A bachelor's degree is required for this position, although a master's degree from an accredited college or seminary in the field of pastoral counseling or family ministries is preferred.

Located a mere 20-minutes from downtown Cleveland, the city of Cleveland Heights bordering five major interstates is an inner-ring suburb of the metropolitan region of Cleveland.
