Title: Director of Student Ministries (part-time 20 hours per week)
This position will provide leadership and direction for successful and effective MSUMC middle school and high school ministries including program development and leadership; recruiting, training and oversight of volunteer leaders to enable successful ministries
at the middle and high school levels; youth community outreach and missions; and management of student ministry budget.
Works under the direction of the Senior Pastor
Provides leadership for all aspects of MSUMC middle high and senior high youth programs.
Qualifications and Experience
Proven abilities in leading student ministry programs. In-progress with bachelors degree in youth ministry or master of divinity.
Strong relational skills both personal and telephone; verbal and written communication skills; ability to utilize social media effectively in support of program goals; ability to multitask; flexibility; maintains confidentiality of sensitive information
without exception. Connection with the theological position of Mineral Springs UMC. Demonstrated leadership skills in a variety of settings. Strong commitment to continuing education.
- Serves on MSUMC staff with responsibility for student ministries.
- Assist with setting goals, developing and maintaining budgets, recruiting and maintaining well-trained lay volunteers in student ministries to ensure successful and effective ministry for middle and high school students.
- Manages the MSUMC Safe Sanctuaries program for student ministries. Ensures compliance with all Safe Sanctuaries policies.
- Fulfills requirements for youth as outlined in Book of Discipline paragraph 256.3.
It is expected that each member of the MSUMC staff, whether part-time or full-time, will attend their spiritual growth through participation in a small group or regular devotional time and through the discovery and use of their spiritual gifts; will give
regularly in support of MSUMC; will pray for the ministry and mission of MSUMC; and will participate in continuing education activities related to the appropriate areas of responsibility. Will provide clear leadership for their assigned area in support of
Terms of Employment
Up to $18,000 annually plus $2,000 for business-related travel (travel paid upon documented request for reimbursement)
