Senior Director of Production


This position is responsible for direction, procurement and execution of Video Production and Live Service Production required in a modern multi-site megachurch. This position will ensure all aspects of Production are executed with excellence and identifies technology solutions that fit ministry needs. They will create and expand the vision for videos and video campuses of Calvary Chapel (CCM). The Sr. Director understands the demands of a large church’s technical infrastructure and is adept at identifying, mentoring and equipping staff, managers and volunteer leaders for developing and maintaining the technical and creative systems.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute all technical and creative production elements related to main worship services, special services and ministry programs
  • Ability to produce great work results through relentless organization, uncompromising integrity, effective communication and proactive problem solving
  • Creative vision for expanding video and visual arts at CCM
  • Oversight of all service content including graphics, videos, props, cue sheets, announcements and sermon support
  • Ensure all critical systems and procedures related to AVL requests are available for ministry events
  • Be proactive in problem solving Production issues
  • Take initiative on projects, locate gaps in processes and see a project through to completion
  • Participate in several Church Leadership & Planning committees
  • Lead Creative Team
  • Oversee stage designs at all CCM venues
  • Provide Leadership for the Lessons For Living Radio Program, Photography Ministry, and CCM Copyright
  • Effectively lead a growing team of up to 20 Production Professionals
  • Oversee and lead all Production Ministry volunteers
  • Recruit, train and provide leadership development for all teams  
  • Ensure team stability and be involved in growth of team members
  • Assist managers with needs and challenges they face daily
  • Meet with ministry heads to create overall vision for production in their ministry
  • Develop yearly ministry budgets and goals, perform while staying within budget
  • Other duties as assigned by Administrator


Required Skills:

  • Stay current with Production trends
  • Knowledge of multi-site campus and venue streaming
  • Results oriented, intelligent, well-rounded, adaptable to frequent changes and able to produce high quality work under pressure
  • Creative, conceptual thinker, able to see ideas through to completion in a rapidly changing environment
  • Lead with both strategic vision and manage with tactical diligence.  Where weak, you build systems to manage weakness and share needs with your leader
  • Manage projects well, delegate with oversight and inspection to staff, volunteers and outsource to professionals/firms as needed
  • Experience in team building, team logistics and leadership with a proven record of serving others and working with others to carry out ministry
  • Ability to work with staff of differing skill levels
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • True leader who influences others to next-level performance
  • Manage time and schedules well while meeting deadlines consistently
  • Capable of handling several tasks at once and following through
  • Proficient on MAC and PC


Desired Skills:

  • Degree in Video Production or 10 years minimum equivalent technical related on the job experience
  • Knowledgeable in all facets of production including producing, shooting, audio, graphics and editing along with the ability to grow in some tech related field in all these areas
  • Working knowledge of theatrical lighting systems and live sound mixing
  • Experienced in managing all facets of internal and external church communication
  • Ability to interact with a large church body ( > 10,000 ) and assist with a helpful attitude
