Willow Creek: One Church. Multiple Locations.

Willow Creek Community Church is a thriving, multisite church with a weekly attendance of more than 25,000 people. Willow has achieved broad, global influence across a wide range of denominations and throughout the business world as a resource for those seeking to implement “best practices.” These have largely been in the areas of reaching those far from God through relevant, biblical teaching and weekend services, developing impactful teams, providing world-class leadership training, building organizational excellence, and leading compassion and justice initiatives that change both the community and the world. Current Senior Pastor Bill Hybels founded Willow Creek in 1975 and continues to spearhead the leadership of the church, alongside an executive team and a broader leadership team designated as ministry directors.

Willow Creek Community Church is seeking a Student Impact Director who will champion the ministry of high school students both inside and beyond the walls of the church. The Student Impact Director is directly responsible for the oversight of all high school students and staff, while striving toward sustaining a healthy, life-transforming ministry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of growth in a large ministry context with progressive responsibility within a student ministry. This individual will be expected to develop the growth of students in both numbers and depth in a way that reflects the overall vision of Willow Creek Community Church. The successful candidate will maintain strong relationships with students, parents, volunteers, and ministry colleagues, with an impeccable ability to relate to a wide diversity of students. A demonstrated leadership gift is required, while a strong aptitude in teaching will be preferable.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of progressively responsible student ministry and teaching experience. While education is not a predetermining factor in the selection of this role, an undergraduate degree is required in a relevant field and a seminary education is preferred.

Chicago is the third-most populous city in the United States (after New York City and Los Angeles), with 2.7 million residents. In addition to its renowned upscale-dining establishments and ethnic-restaurant districts, the city's unique location on Lake Michigan, its rich architectural heritage, its lively theater, arts, and comedy community, and its vibrant nightlife attracts residents and tourists alike. Chicago is the third-largest convention destination in the United States, and the fourth-most ‘walkable’ city of the fifty largest cities in the United States (2011, Walk Score).

Willow Creek Community Church has regional churches throughout Chicagoland (Chicago’s metropolitan area, with its population of 9.9 million residents). Willow Creek is dynamic and diverse, readily celebrating the varied cultural backgrounds of its people. The sprawling Chicagoland transit system makes it possible to hop on a train in the suburbs and travel to the heart of the city of Chicago in less than an hour, any day of the week. The city is home to numerous major-league sports teams, world-class museums, and the Magnificent Mile shopping district—all along the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline, creating an atmosphere not soon to be forgotten.
