Lake Hills Church (LHC) is a thriving church located in southwest Austin, Texas whose vision is to grow the community of Christ one life at a time. We feel that the strategic use of modern technology in the fields of sound, video, stage design, and entertainment lighting plays a large role in creating an environment in which our congregation can participate in an extraordinary worship experience.


Key Responsibilities


Be a Team Player:

  • Have a team-oriented attitude and a willingness to work closely with the Production, Creative, and Worship teams to make Sunday worship services a professional grade experience

  • Assist with the technical needs of other ministries at LHC (high school, children’s, Bible studies, special events, etc.) on a regular basis

Be a Technical Expert:

  • Possess the ability to operate the following in multiple venues for live worship at an expert level: FOH sound, entertainment lights, and video (shooting, editing and projection)

  • Maintain expertise in stage design, rigging, and other elements related to live production in an auditorium setting


Oversee All Technology on the LHC Campus:

  • Provide oversight for all audio and video (A/V) installation, maintenance, and upgrades

  • Be aware of and plan for new technological advances relative to live production

  • Troubleshoot technical issues before and during worship experiences while maintaining composure

  • Edit and distribute recorded media to website, iTunes, etc. on a weekly basis

  • Help prepare and manage the A/V portion of the production department’s annual budget

  • Set and measure goals while managing priorities for self, other staff, and volunteer teams

  • Assist in building props and set pieces as needed

  • Manage acquisition, safe storage, and inventory of all A/V equipment and media assets


Be a Leader:

  • Cast vision, lead, and invest in the lives of the amazing tech volunteers who serve at LHC, while being a magnet for adding more people to serve on the Tech Team

  • Train tech team members in different roles such as Pro Presenter Operator, Lighting Engineer, FOH Sound, Video (shooting & editing), Camera Operator, Stage Manager, etc.


Job Requirements



  • Required: High School Diploma and some Technical School/College

  • Preferred: 4 Year College Degree in related field of study


Previous Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of leading a tech team of staff and/or volunteers in a large church setting

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in running audio, lighting, and cameras for both live and video production

  • Must be an expert at FOH audio engineer position for professional band and singers



  • Strong knowledge and abilities in all aspects associated with live production (including associated software, hardware, and systems integration)

  • Knowledge and ability in video production (lighting, shooting and editing)

  • Strong working knowledge of both Mac and Windows OS

  • Proficiency with the following software packages: Pro Presenter, Planning Center, and Adobe CC and/or Final Cut

  • Capability of lifting 50lbs and working comfortably on articulating lifts and ladders up to 20 feet

  • Willingness to do whatever it takes to make any worship a first class experience
