As a church, the mission of NorthRidge Church is as simple as 16 words:
Wake the World Up to Jesus.
Show them His love.
Tell them His Truth.
Within that mission it is the church’s vital goal to continually help both believers and non-believers grow their relationship with God and their heart for His cause. Northridge is dedicated to ‘meeting’ each attendee in their journey through empowering
worship, powerful talks, community Bible studies, and range of ministries. The 16-word mission is a laser-focused refresh of what the church has been about for years. Today, the ministry of NorthRidge Church continues to grow in impact and influence, flooding
its surrounding communities with a fresh culture of faith through its seven services across four locations in the Plymouth, Michigan, area.
NorthRidge Church is searching for a Discipleship Pastor who will lead, create, and align ministries to provide an intentional pathway of spiritual development for those who believe in Christ and those who don’t, while facilitating their participation in
and experience of NorthRidge’s 16 Word Mission. This will include ensuring NorthRidge offers a portfolio with an appropriate number and variety of opportunities for individual spiritual growth. Emphasis will be placed on successfully encouraging attendees
to take a 'next step' in their journey regardless of their spiritual maturity, but especially in the case of those whose current level of participation is limited to attending weekend services and need to take their first step. Discipleship ministries currently
include Community Groups, Women’s, Men’s, Next Steps/Starting Point, Team NorthRidge, Care, and Adult Education, with opportunities appropriated for each campus.
This individual will first and foremost have a clear call from God to lead large numbers of people with varying levels of spiritual maturity (and denominational backgrounds) into a more genuine relationship with God in a manner consistent with NorthRidge’s
expression of ministry. They will be equipped with a seminary or undergraduate degree in Divinity or Bible (or a comparable), and have a minimum of five years in a ministry position involving some aspect of discipleship.
His/her key attributes will consist of a significant pastoral presence, an upstanding character of integrity guided by sound ethical principles, a contagious passion for ministry, and a continuous level of accountability in line with Matthew 18. They will
possess demonstrated qualities of a dynamic follower of Christ, while being passionate about continuing to grow and live authentically for Christ. They will further show characteristics of self-motivation, with a strong ability to lead selflessly,
while overcoming challenges with volunteer leaders and leadership teams. The prospective candidate should have a significant degree of humility, teachability, organization, teamwork, discernment, wisdom, and strategic agility, without requiring extensive direction
