Hill Country Fellowship is a family of believers committed to reaching people for Christ, developing committed followers, and recreating a community of authentic Christians who are experiencing real life change.

Since 2003, Hill Country Fellowship has existed for one purpose – to share the authentic love of Jesus Christ. They are committed to providing a safe place for life-changing encounters with God and are dedicated to creating a strong community where people can connect, learn, and grow. And they are passionate about living life – real life – with all members and those in the community. The word “Fellowship” in the name indicates the inclusiveness of the church, a church that majors on the essentials of the Christian faith and not letting minor theological issues be a cause of disunity. Known for its outreach, the church baptizes about 100 people a year. Hill Country Fellowship has land, with room for expansion, and beautiful functional facilities that are debt-free. Plans for future expansion include a student ministry facility, and adding space to the preschool. The church also reaches a wider audience through its radio ministry.

Hill Country Fellowship is a non-denominational church serving the Texas Hill Country. The church is really a regional church, with about one-third of regular attenders coming from outside the city of Burnet. While they've grown considerably from the very first worship service with a handful of people at the Holiday Inn Express, the church's purpose has remained unchanged: They are a family of believers committed to reaching people with the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ.

The Lead Pastor of Hill Country Fellowship will serve as the spiritual and directional point and primary communicator for Hill Country Fellowship. This role will be driven by Jesus’ commandment to Peter in John 21:15-17:

  • Feed my lambs – Grow & Establish
  • Tend my sheep – Guard & Guide
  • Feed my sheep – Sustain & Nourish

The next Lead Pastor will be a gifted, Spirit-led preacher-teacher, with the ability to deliver sermons that are relevant, challenging, and life giving, while handling the Word of God with authority (2 Timothy 2:15). He will be marked by qualities of a passionate visionary and evangelical preacher with an attitude of Christ-like servanthood. This individual will lead the executive leadership and staff of Hill Country Fellowship and implement the vision and mission of the church within the context of the local congregation. They will likely be gifted in shepherding, teaching, and administration so as to lead the church into a future of growth that glorifies God. Success in this role will be measured primarily by the physical, spiritual, and relational development of the church in alignment with the overall vision, mission, and strategic initiatives of Hill Country Fellowship.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success as a Senior Pastor, a Lead Pastor, or an Associate Pastor. Ten years of ministry experience is preferred. They will possess an uncompromising passion with relentless commitment to lead the unchurched to Christ and to connect them with their ultimate call.

The City of Burnet is a picturesque city located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country near the Highland Lakes, just 50 miles northwest of Austin and 90 miles north of San Antonio. Burnet is a community built upon the strength of its people. This small town of 6,000 residents has accomplished tasks many thought to be difficult or even impossible for any rural community, much less one of this size. Through the vision and perseverance of governing officials, city staff, and a community willing to embrace the effort, Burnet has grown the community and the economy while maintaining the ambiance and culture so dear to their citizens. The city offers a myriad of amenities for citizens, including broad ranging recreational opportunities, an excellent school district, Seton Highland Lakes Hospital, close proximity to higher education, an outstanding airport with 5,000 ft. of runway, unique shopping, museums, historic district, and exciting annual festivals.
