The Bridge is a growing church plant in Portage, Michigan. Our church is growing rapidly
and we are looking for a new full time staff member. We’re looking for a dynamic person
oversee all our discipleship ministries and to give direct leadership to our College and
This person needs to be centered with a strong Christian faith and filled with integrity.
This person must have a passion for the Mission Statement and 7 Essentials of The
Bridge. This person needs to be a team player, ready to work together for the good of the
church family, and be able to receive critical feedback. This person must have a servant
heart, willing to serve the needs of the church community. This person needs to be a
catalyst for utilizing the gifts and talents of ‘others.’
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Seminary Training is preferred.
Two or more years of experience is desired.
Experience in Christian Education, Discipleship, and Facilitating Bible Studies is

40-50 Hours per week
1. Multiply the Life Group Discipleship Process
Ensuring passionate and capable leaders are in place and trained to be effective
Obsess about supporting facilitators and fostering passionate faith/health in Life
Ensuring a continuous effort to welcome new people into our process
Ongoing monitoring and evaluation of groups at every level
Responsible to raise up new leaders and multiply the impact of Life Groups
2. Develop our Bridge Academy
Ensuring well planned / Biblical curriculum / trained teachers
Expanding beyond the current Wednesday night program to include unique growth
opportunities like Morning Monk and special retreats.
FPU, Marriage Retreats, would also be part of Bridge Academy
3. Launch and sustain a vital College / Career Group
Gathering young people from 18 to mid to late 20’s
Building a leadership team to provide oversight and direction for this group.
Encourage College / Career people to fully engage in the Bridge’s Life Group
Discipleship Process. (We want them to stay in this holistic process for our church)
Encourage College / Career people to fully engage in the Bridge’s Community
impact Efforts (including 2nd Saturdays and All Church Impact Days).
ACCOUNTABILITY AND SUPPORT
*Be directly accountable to and receive support from the Lead Pastor and the team of
Overseers. Overall accountability to the BOO (Bridge Operator and Overseer) Team.
