Church name: Grace Church
Position open: Grace Kid’s Lead
Foster a vibrant culture where children and families flourish in life and faith.
Grace Church is seeking a high-capacity servant leader who is relationally contagious, experienced working with families, and highly organized.
Grace Church Reno began in May of 1990. Two small churches in Reno decided to go completely against the current trend and merge into one functional, growing body of believers called Grace Community Church. About 180 people attended that first worship service at Lawlor Events Center. For the next five years, Grace Church thrived in a mobile setting and set up and tore down each weekend at Lawlor, all while growing rapidly. Eventually, a plot of land was purchased on Robb Drive, finally giving Grace Church a permanent home, where they serve the community today.
On January 26, 1996, the first worship services were held in the new facility, but there was an immediate challenge in that the church had already outgrown the building. Soon, multiple services were offered each weekend and by 2000, the leaders of Grace Church were vigorously praying about how to deal with the facility demands of the rapidly growing church. In 2003, Grace expanded the size of the parking lot and the Worship Center. More classrooms and office space were also added to make room for the busy weekend services and also an on-site preschool. Between 2007 and 2010 Grace continued to see strong attendance growth, culminating in planting Living Stones Church in the downtown area.
In 2012, Grace Church opened a new worship facility that seats close to 1200 people. It is complete with cutting edge audio/visual technology, and additional ministry spaces, including a dynamic large foyer with café. All other church facilities have been completely updated to match the new building – children’s and student spaces are excellent. (See also: http://gccreno.com/grace-church/)
