Position Purpose:

To cultivate the spiritual, relational, ministerial, and missional lives of children from birth to 6th grade while leading them and their families to connect to Christ and Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church.


Essential Functions:

Facilitating the relational and spiritual development of children through strategic events, venues, and experiences.

     Developing existing Connection Groups, starting new units, and equipping leaders to teach effectively and meet the needs of the group.

 Designing and implementing evangelistic and other growth strategies to lead children and their families to connect to Christ and STBC; counseling children about a profession of faith and other spiritual decisions; and facilitating the spiritual growth of new Christians through a specific program of instruction relating to doctrine, spiritual disciplines, and the STBC disciple-making process.

 Developing strategies to facilitate the movement of individuals from prospect to church membership, membership to Connection Group, and Connection Group to serving and sharing.

 Meeting the pastoral care needs of children by visiting hospitals in the Dallas area to minister through prayer, counsel, and comfort; attending funerals of children and their families in the Dallas area; and counseling children in crisis.

 Supervising and guiding the CDC Director and ministries.

 Preaching and teaching as required or requested.

 Empowering and equipping others, measuring performance, leading adjustment strategies, demonstrating accountability for effective performance and impactful ministry aligned with STBC’s vision and mission.

 Leading and equipping teams in the assigned area of ministry including volunteers, employees, and other ministry staff as necessary.

 Communicating regularly with ministry stakeholders to cast vision, answer questions, encourage collaboration, elicit action, influence outcomes, and persuade unified direction.

 Performing administrative functions including—but not limited to—budgeting, maintaining records, completing reports, measuring performance, and sharing information with others.

 Participating actively and collaboratively in STBC cross-ministry functions including—but not limited to—committee presentations, ministry team meetings, annual planning, church-wide events, and special projects as determined.

 Enhancing professional and spiritual development to remain effective in ministry.

 Fulfilling all other duties as assigned by the Associate Pastor of Missions and Ministries or Senior Pastor.
