The vision of Grace Christian Church is to point the hurting and broken to Christ. 


In 1987, Pastor Gary Brown had a dream to start a church in Georgetown, Kentucky, that would point hurting and broken people to something so much bigger than their reality: Jesus Christ. Through that purpose, Grace Christian was birthed, launching its first service with a small group of merely three people. Today, with Andrew Brown as lead pastor, Grace Christian lives the dream that God placed in one family over twenty-five years ago, which has in turn has become the mission of many who share the same common interest. 


The Executive Pastor role at Grace Christian Church will serve as an overall support to the Lead Pastor by helping to identify and act upon ideas that enable the church to operate more effectively and, in so doing, better fulfill its vision.


The Executive Pastor will have oversight responsibilities in several different areas within the church, which may span from assimilation and connections, outreach, youth and family ministries, to communications, worship and leadership development. The successful candidate must be organized, and assertive, with excellence in areas of ministry strategy and execution, while also being highly relational and maintaining a heart for people with different personalities, skill sets, and backgrounds. 


The successful candidate will have bachelor's degree, while an MBA or related Master's Degree from an accredited Bible college or seminary is preferred. A proven track record of growing a ministry in a community setting that has interactions with people from multi-generational backgrounds and economic statuses is essential for this position. The candidate will have at least 3-5 years of professional, executive experience in a church of 1,500 attendees or more. This role requires strong a administrative gifting, along with excellent verbal and written skills; the successful candidate must possess the ability to think biblically, creatively, and critically regarding how to help the local church and its staff be as effective as possible. The successful candidate must be a ‘ministry strategist,’ progress and results oriented, and capable of turning ideas into action.


 They will additionally possess the following characteristics:


  • Extensive pastoral or life experience, with additional experience in leadership development, team building, delegation, and organization/administration.
  • An understanding of budget, financial, and fiscal management as well as human resource management.
  • Zeal for the work of pastoral ministry.
  • An ability to work on a team towards specific goals in a mutually edifying and supportive manner.
  • Fully understand and passionate about leading from the ‘second chair’ with the many opportunities that it affords; completely loyal to and serve as a trusted confidant of the Lead Pastor with a high degree of dedication to minister in the church through this position.
  • Strong organization skills, excellent strategic and management leadership.
  • Assertive, including, after appropriate input and research, the ability to make conclusive and sometimes difficult decisions.
  • Demonstrated history of strong, positive interpersonal and communication skills, including positive experience in conflict resolution.
  • A collaborator and a team player.
  • A high level of energy and a readiness to take on significant challenges.
