MinisterSearch ( is partnering with a loving church in their search for their next Sr. Pastor. Located in West Central Ohio, this well-established church is financially sound and has experienced growth and change over the last 5 years. They have a core group of Godly people that are eager to see how God is moving in the church and to follow His plan for His people.


Their mission is to be a community of faith who engage Biblical truth to provide an environment where people mature as disciples of Christ. With a new ministry center, offices, a catering kitchen, youth room, and large gathering room as well as an established radio ministry of many years that reaches thousands of people each week, this church offers a great opportunity for the right Sr. Pastor to revitalize it for God and His kingdom.


Located in an agricultural area that incorporates many white collar people also, this very family-oriented community has friendly, caring, hardworking residents that value physical labor and love sports. Their schools are excellent with great community support and very open to church interaction.


Just minutes from an Interstate highway, you can travel to Chicago; Frankfort, Kentucky; Charleston, West Virginia; or Erie, Pennsylvania, in just a few hours. Whether traveling by car or air, the community is easily accessible. Dayton International Airport is within an hour's drive, while several other International airports can all be reached in under two hours.


Close leisure attractions include lakes, museums, ski lodge, bike and walking trails, and area theater performances. There are numerous well-known manufacturing businesses and industries as well as agricultural businesses. Additionally, there are numerous University campuses within 20 minutes to an hour away.


This area has a close community spirit and big heart, and the people are looking forward to providing a warm welcome to their Senior Pastor.



  • Engage in personal prayer and study of scripture that leads not only to spiritual growth for yourself, but also for the entire church community
  • Serve as the main vision caster for congregation, working with elders to discern God's will, revitalize, and implement change
  • Responsible for planning worship, preaching, celebration of sacraments
  • Preach sound, biblical sermons that bring people to a saving faith, a relationship with Christ, and promote biblical literacy
  • Shepherd congregants, actively helping people grow in faith though conversation and mentoring
  • Model, encourage, and facilitate evangelism and discipleship training
  • Through interaction with attenders, discern new initiatives and plan their implementation/review
  • Provide spiritual oversight of the church, including leadership of elders
  • Provide continual pastoral care including home/hospital visitation, bereavement care, weddings, funerals, etc.
  • Lead and oversee staff, both pastoral and administrative
  • Develop and implement lay leadership training
  • Plan and lead regular staff meetings, participate in Consistory meetings, attend trustee and other meetings as required


  • Four-year degree from an accredited College or University; M.Div. from an accredited seminary preferred
  • Several years' current full-time ministry experience in a leadership position with teaching/preaching regularly
  • Committed follower of Jesus Christ, consistently exemplifying the fruits of a Spirit-filled life and the qualifications of a pastor as given in Scripture. 
  • Ability to project the enthusiasm and importance of the gospel message which in turns motivates other to become leaders and disciples furthering God's kingdom.
  • Proven ability to develop other leaders, delegate, and build teams
  • Skill to bring along the majority of people along while maintaining positive relationships with that smaller percent who will not understand or agree
  • Knowledgeable about and experience in conflict management, modeling godly and civil standards of leading in the midst of disagreement.
  • Energetic, approachable, personable—enjoys being with and among people, both in the church and in the community
  • Must be a good leader who has self-confidence while possessing the heart of a shepherd and a servant     
  • Can successfully work with other staff members and leadership within the church in maintaining and fulfilling the overall vision of the church
  • A humble shepherd who mentors and cares about people with varied backgrounds, opinions, and ages, in a God-honoring manner
