With well over 1,200 people having accepted or re-committed their lives to Christ in a mere four-year campaign to reach “1200 Souls for Christ”, Crossroads has made a mark on the communities of Camarillo and Ventura counties, as a healthy, growing, and thriving church that is abound with diversity. 


The Student Pastor will serve as the leader of the youth department and will oversee the high school and middle school programs, as well as the college program. While all ministries at Crossroads will function within the framework of the larger church vision, the Student Pastor will seek to creatively implement that vision in a manner relevant to and effective with the student population. The ideal candidate will be ready to join the ministry team and jump right into the ministry, adding their skills and experiences to the team.


The Student Pastor will be required, not only to maintain the size of the current middle and high school ministries, but to ensure their perpetual growth both numerically and spiritually. The Student Pastor will be able to work with both the students as well as their parents, provide strong leadership, and build and lead strong volunteer teams while ensuring the youth group continues to grow as an relevant and practical ministry. The position also includes the renewal of the college program.


It is imperative that the next Student Pastor is educationally equipped with a bachelor's or ministry degree from an accredited college or university. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in a setting committed to reaching the unreached with a high degree of innovation, recruitment, and retention of new members. They will also have a history of success in creating a structure that reaches, disciples and grows students spiritually.


Proven experience in creative thinking and problem solving is strongly preferred. Work history in communication and leadership is a must. In sum, the successful candidate will be ready to go, to "plug and play" from day one on the job. Organizational skills are very important as well as the implementation of ideas. Technical skills in office productivity tools, church-related applications (Pro Presenter, Planning Center Online, etc.), social media, blogs, mass texting, and such, is key. The successful candidate should have a track record of measured growth in previous roles.


Consistently ranked as one of the safest communities in Ventura County, Camarillo’s location positioned midway between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara is ideal for families who want to take advantage of the region’s amenities while living in a prospering community. Minutes from renowned beaches such as Malibu, as well as coastal mountains, access to surfing, hiking, skiing, among numerous other recreational activities are right at one's fingertips. Camarillo and the surrounding area has a temperate, Mediterranean-type climate. Its location being in a coastal valley brings mild ocean breezes and temperatures in the 70’s throughout most of the year. The city has over 300 days of sunshine a year and an average humidity of 62%. Two major high schools and California State University Channel Islands, are within reach to pull in students and college volunteers, while the overall lifestyle contributes to a thriving community of residents.
