We exist to introduce people to Jesus and to follow Him together as a worshiping community of missional theologians.

Vintage Faith Church is recognized as one of the pioneering adaptors of the ‘Next Gen’ church that began evolving in the early 2000s. It has withstood a test of time and transition, faithfully serving the millennial majority of Santa Cruz for eleven years. The culture of Vintage can be distinctly identified as one that is creative, counter-cultural, and contemporary, with a crystal clear focus to execute its vision and mission in the cosmopolitan city of Santa Cruz.

Vintage Faith Church is so-named out of a desire to reflect the vintage values of Jesus Christ and the church of the New Testament. Translating those values of the early church into a church for Santa Cruz in today’s culture is the vision at Vintage Faith. The mission of the church is to see people’s lives change radically by entering into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and then continue the life-change process as they Worship, Grow, Serve, and Give. The church shares its cultural DNA with that of founding leader Dan Kimball, an irreplaceable and irrevocable strength of Vintage. The attractive energy is attributed to its ease in adapting to innovation, its unwavering commitment to apologetics, its comprehensive outlook on evangelism, and its long-standing vision of reaching the next generation.

The Leader of Staff & Operations at Vintage Faith Church is a 'younger' voice that will seek to find impeccable chemistry with the Dan Kimball, Leader of Theology and Mission, and achieve being the “glue” that complements the Dan’s position. It is vital that the new Leader of Staff & Operations is able to hold the congregation, staff, and leadership of Vintage together, not simply as a manager, but as a leader who understands Vintage as an organism that conveys the Leader of Theology & Mission’s heart. It is also essential that this vision is passed down to the right individual, and that they interpret it accurately.
Vintage seeks an individual who possesses the following characteristics:

  • Older (as it relates to millennials) – as staff is young
  • Mature (as it relates to millennials) – as church is growing
  • Goal-oriented – as it speaks to strengths and weaknesses
  • Player-coach – as a leader and a developer
  • Authority – as it contributes to systems and daily decision-making

Among the Leader of Staff & Operations’ main responsibilities are moving the church from point A to B, providing a significant leadership presence, while offering preaching/teaching up to 50% of the time. The candidate will likely be a college graduate with a strong theological acumen. Proven experience in maintaining a role in a church setting is imperative for this position. Vintage Faith Church is deeply relevant and applicable to the community and culture of Santa Cruz, as an incubator for art, a community of original thinkers, and a safe place for the millennials of Santa Cruz to come to church. The Leader of Staff & Operations will relevantly complement this culture.
