D.R.E.A.M - The heart of Oak Ridge Baptist Church (Oak Ridge, ORBC) is to use the vehicle of the church to make disciples of unreached people and to teach them applicable life principles of the Bible. Developing 10,000 disciples by Reaching the un-churched with the gospel, Engaging them in community, Activating them in ministry, and Mobilizing them to impact the world.


Oak Ridge Baptist Church is a growing and thriving congregation located on the Maryland peninsula in Salisbury. Led by the dynamic pastor Brian Moss, Oak Ridge is currently in an exciting season, marked by the recent renovation of their campus, the addition of a second worship venue,  and with many additional campuses on the horizon. ORBC has become well known in the community and beyond for being very strategic in their ability to reach families and individuals in the area and equipping them with a biblical understanding and worldview, as well as for being a place of relevant worship. Many of the strategies and programs employed by ORBC are a result of their relationship with and learning from Saddleback Church in California. 


Oak Ridge Baptist Church is looking for an Executive Pastor of Business Operations that is passionate about resourcing the mission and vision of a church totally committed to reaching the unchurched. The Executive Pastor of Business Operations at ORBC will be responsible for advancing the vision and mission of ORBC by leveraging organizational, administrative, and project management gifts to provide oversight of all business-related aspects of the church. The successful candidate will utilize their heart for ministry and professional experience to oversee HR benefits, payroll compliance, facilities, and ensure that overall hiring is efficient and functioning at its fullest potential. The Executive Pastor of Buseinss Operations will function as the third arm of the executive team and will have a voice in the master plan of ORBC. Additionally, this person will sit on ORBC’s financial team. They will oversee the church operating budget, income generated from lessors of the church property, and all other church assets totaling $14.7M.


The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in a setting committed to reaching the un-churched with a high degree of innovation, recruitment, and retention of new members. The ideal candidate will have many years of real world experience in business operations, corporate finance/accounting, project management, and leading teams. The successful candidate will be adept in running the financial side of an organization the size and scope of ORBC or larger. Although formal education is not a predetermining factor for this position, the prospective candidate will, at minimum, hold a bachelor's degree (an advanced degree in Business, Administration, Finance, or similar field is preferred, but not required). During the first 24-months of employment, the Executive Pastor of Business Operations will:


  • Provide leadership to the accounting and operational staff.
  • Oversee and manage all business and personnel operations of ORBC.
  • Ensure all financial operations are executed with integrity and accountability.
  • Ensure operational and personnel compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines
  • Prepare and administer, in consultation with the appropriate ministry teams, the annual ORBC budgets.
