Job Description:



  • To further God’s kingdom by directing the ministries of Elevate and Roots through developing leaders and designing strategies that generate disciples who are committed to Christ-centered, missional living.

  • Ability to create and carry out the vision of the ministry
  • Effective administrative skills – including the ability to set goals, facilitate advance planning and effectively manage ministry and personal schedules
  • Strong communication and writing skills 
  • Gifted teacher and public speaker 
  • Strong gift of leadership and proven experience developing leaders 
  • Ability to recruit, develop and communicate with volunteers 
  • Aligns with Engedi’s vision to connect with people of varying ethnic and economic backgrounds
  • Team player – humble, willing to defer to others, supportive of other Engedi ministries 
  • Is a partner of Engedi or is willing to become one upon joining staff 
  • Tithes 
  • Is in a CABLE (small) group or is willing to become a part of one upon joining staff



  • Oversee the recruiting, equipping/discipleship and leadership development for Elevate - Engedi’s college ministry - and Roots - Engedi’s ministry for those in their 20’s and 30’s 
  • Connect and interact with people (especially 20 somethings) on Sunday mornings 
  • Work with Roots and Elevate leadership to plan and organize midsize Roots and Elevate events (Examples: Roots Retreat, Group Trainings, Elevate Leadership Retreat, Elevate Kickoff Party, etc.) 
  • Create next steps of connection at Engedi for college students and 20 somethings. This could include semi-regular meetings with kids ministries, local missional life, and student ministries 
  • Recruit, train and care for leaders within Elevate and Roots 
  • Create, develop and manage an internship and residency program that supports our church’s multiplication efforts both locally and globally 
  • Support general pastoral needs through teaching (classes), counseling, and collaborating on shared initiatives 
  • Carry out all the above mentioned duties and responsibilities, as well as those not stated above, that would be necessary to ensure the success of the Engedi staff team and the flourishing of the Engedi family as it relates to Young Adults 



  • Participate in twice a month staff meetings (1st and 3rd Mondays of the month) 
  • Participate in twice a month directors meetings (2nd and 4th Mondays of the month) 
  • Participate in most Encounter events 
  • Attend staff retreats (two times a year) 



  • Full-time (45 hours/week) position with benefits including vacation and personal days, health benefits, cell phone reimbursement, and matching 401k contributions.
