Located just 15 miles outside of Washington, D.C., Burke Community is a fast-growing, Bible-based non-denominational church of over 2,800 that has seen phenomenal growth since 2009. We are now poised to take huge “next steps” in the years ahead as we expand our campus with a new Worship Center, offices, lobby, café, and more. What’s missing is the right person to join our Worship Arts team to lead the way forward in all things technical; a servant leader that has the ability to communicate vision, build teams, and pour into the lives of volunteers with a genuine heart for ministry.


Position Overview


Reports to: Worship Pastor


Key Responsibilities

Be a Team Player – Have a team-oriented attitude and willingness to work closely with the entire Worship Arts staff as well as being available to help other ministries (children’s, youth, etc.) with their A/V request on a per-need basis.


Be a Technical Expert – Possess the ability to proficiently run sound, lights, video at an “expert” level.  Each Sunday, be willing and able to work as a principle sound, lighting, or video operator.


Oversee all technology on the BCC campus - Provide oversight for all A/V maintenance, installation, and upgrades. Assist other ministries within the church in planning for future A/V needs as an expert consultant and by helping to identify and train volunteers within their ministry areas. Help prepare the A/V portion of the Worship Arts annual budget.


Care for the tech volunteers and grow the team - Invest in the lives of the amazing tech volunteers who serve at BCC and be a champion for adding more people to serve on the Tech Team. Train team members in different roles such as Slide, Lighting, Sound, Video, and Camera Operators


Plan for the future – Work to develop a strategic plan for implementing new technologies in our current facilities as well as assist in the design/implementation of AVL in our new Worship Center and campus expansion (breaking ground in early 2017).


Job Requirements



Required: High School Diploma and some Technical School/College

Preferred: 4 Year College Degree in related field of study




• Minimum of 3 years of leading a tech team of paid workers or volunteers in a large church setting 


• Minimum of 3 years experience in running audio, lighting and cameras for both live and video production




• Strong knowledge and abilities in all aspects associated with live production and video-streaming, including    

  associated software, hardware and systems integration


• Knowledge and ability in video production (lighting, shooting and editing)


• Strong working knowledge of both Mac and Windows OS


• Proficiency with the following software packages: ProPresenter, Planning Center, Ableton, and Final Cut

  ProX (Apple Motion or After Effects a plus)


Salary commensurate with experience and the cost of living in the D.C. metro area.
