Coshocton Christian Tabernacle (CCT) is a church founded in the Wesleyan-Arminian theological doctrine in a rural community about an hour east of Columbus, Ohio. CCT maintains a consistent weekly average attendance of approximately 200 members. The congregation
consists of many families with children but has a mix of all ages. The Sunday morning worship music consists of a blend of contemporary praise songs with some familiar hymns. The church ministries include children’s ministries, youth groups, adult in-home
small groups, and adult bible studies.
The church resides in an approximately 40,000 square foot facility built in 2005, in a highly visible location and the church regularly receives Sunday morning visitors. The church also operates the Coshocton Christian School in the same building. The
school offers grades Pre-School - Grade 12 with approximately 100 students currently enrolled. The church is known in the community for its many outreach activities including a live nativity at Christmas, extensive children’s ministries and large youth group.
CCT is currently in need of a Senior Pastor. The senior pastor shall serve as the spiritual leader of the congregation. His task is to communicate God’s Word. As such, primary tasks of the senior pastor shall be:
Preaching and Teaching
- To preach the Word (Acts 14:15, II Timothy 4:2). It shall be the responsibility of the senior pastor to be the principle “preacher” discharging this duty with love, faithfulness, impartiality, and fearfulness, knowing that he will be held accountable
for the welfare of the flock (Hebrews 13:17).
- To teach the Word (II Timothy 2:2). The pastor is required to teach in the regularly scheduled services, including but not limited to, Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday evening. Being the spiritual leader, the pastor should also oversee
and instruct discipleship training within the congregation.
As the senior pastor of the church, it is expected that he have a heart of compassion and will provide extensive pastoral care for the congregation in the following ways:
- To engage in intercessory prayer (Acts 6:4, Ephesians 6:18).
- To call on the sick.
- To call on the membership.
- To provide spiritual advice.
- To lead the church in public worship.
- To administer the sacraments of communion, baptisms, and infant dedications.
- To perform weddings.
- To manage conflicts.
Outreach and Leadership
As the leader of the church, it is required for the senior pastor to oversee the daily activities of the church as well as provide spiritual vision and guidance for its ministries. Through general administration (Hebrews 13:17), the pastor shall give oversight
of the church acting as a catalyst for the future vision of the church and the facilitator of the ministries associated with his vision. The pastor is expected to equip members of the church to carry out their ministries and provide discipleship (Ephesians
The pastor must evangelize lost souls. Through person to person contact he should be winning people to Christ and into entire sanctification. He should be capable of training others to win souls.
The general duties of the pastor include holding and posting regular office hours. The pastor should submit accountability reports to the board and keep the board updated on the current status of all the church ministries.
It is preferred that applicants for this position of Senior Pastor should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in church pastoral ministry.
The salary range for this Senior Pastor position is $45,000-$50,000 depending on qualifications and experience level of the candidate. No parsonage or health insurance benefits are currently offered with this position.
