Job Description:

The Children & Family Ministries Director is responsible to oversee the entire children's ministry and support the Elders in family ministry activities and events.  The Children’s Ministry program is one that will encourage children to exalt Christ, equip children and parents with Biblical truth and love, and evangelize to children and their families.  The ministry will be designed to help children lay a foundation that will encourage children in a personal relationship with God, lived in community through a church.  Family Ministry programs will encourage and support families in Biblical truth and understanding, lived out in a community of faith.


Ministry Target: Infants to 5th Grade students; Families



  • Stable, mature Christian
  • Member of First Baptist Church of Windsor
  • Four or more years of relevant ministry experience
  • Passion for influencing and affecting children's lives with the gospel of Christ

  • Develop and implement vision, mission, and goals for children and family ministries that are consistent with those of FBC Windsor
  • Communicate with church body regarding needs, goals, and activities of children and family ministries
  • Recruit, oversee and work with staff to coordinate all aspects of the children's ministry
  • Train and develop leaders within the ministries
  • Work with staff to ensure that all children's workers have been screened before placing them in ministry
  • Investigate any complaints regarding children's ministry workers and/or programs.  Discuss issues with workers when warranted.  Document and report serious matters to pastor(s) and proper authorities.
  • Approve all children and family ministries programs, curriculum, activities, and expenses, keeping within budgeted amounts
  • Pray for, and be available to counsel and pray with children, parents, families, and workers regarding spiritual matters
  • Provide children’s ministry program for adult education options or church events as needed
  • Oversee Sunday morning, midweek, and VBS programs
  • Provide pastoral support in areas such as counseling, visitation, and preaching
  • Plan events that encourage and support families, such as marriage & parenting conferences
  • Other duties as assigned
