Journey Church is a non-denominational Christian church whose passion is to simply transform lives. With a focused purpose to love ALL people by cultivating ministry environments where people feel welcomed, encouraged, and fully equipped to serve others, Journey Church in just eleven years has grown from a congregation of just sixteen people to now well over 2,000. With two growing campuses, Journey Church is poised to make a significant impact throughout the South Florida region, as its ministry is focused on building authentic relationships in a way that it compels one to embrace all God has created them to be.

Journey Church seeks a Children's Pastor to provide the leadership, vision, and direction necessary to make a lasting impact in the lives of children. The successful candidate must have a strong passion to disciple families and can do so in a fast-paced, high-intensity, ministry environment that thrives on creativity and organization. The Children's Pastor will lead birth-5th grade for both the Lake Worth and Boynton-Delray campuses of Journey Church. While education is not a predetermining factor in the selection of a new Children’s Pastor, the successful candidate must be one who has demonstrated several years of development and administrative oversight in full-time children’s ministry, preferably as a Kids’ Pastor in a church of over 1,000 attendees, or as a Kids’ Coordinator/Director or Assistant Kids’ Pastor in a church over over 1,500 attendees.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of growing a ministry in a community setting that has interactions with people from multi-generational backgrounds and economic statuses.

The candidate will have had experience working as an effective leader of ministry teams, with the responsibility of providing vision for volunteers, and the ability to develop and monitor a vibrant, creative, and attractive children’s ministry that is equally focused on family-based discipleship.

Required skills and experience necessary for this position will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Skilled in identifying, attracting and recruiting new leaders.
  • Experience in empowering people and leading teams of staff and volunteers.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Successful leadership experience in vision setting.
  • Able to administer and organize budgets, events and ministry communications.
