Beginning in 2005 with just a small family of three, Calvary Fellowship has now grown to a congregation of well over 500 people, which is an amazing testimony of God’s faithfulness, considering that West Harfortd, Connecticut, where Calvary Fellowship is located, is one of the most unchurched, non-Christian cities in the Northeast.


With a mission to ‘Revolutionize lives through the Revelation of God,’ Calvary Fellowship, currently meets at Conrad High School, which was recently ranked by Newsweek magazine as one of ‘best public high schools in the nation.’ Although a portable church, Calvary is highly intentional about fostering a life-giving community that will keep its members connected with one another each week. Its growing staff has an ‘all in’ style of leadership, where collaboration and excellence are not just goals, but an overall workplace culture.


The prospective Family Life Pastor will lead, and acquire oversight of the Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, and the Pastoral Care Ministry at Calvary Fellowship. They will oversee the leaders of each of these areas in administering and developing the comprehensive standards, curriculums, and programming elements of each ministry. The (Family Life Pastor) will also ensure successful implementation and alignment with the overall vision of the church in these ministries through their oversight. The (Family Life Pastor) will be responsible for leading and organizing each semester of Home Fellowships.


The Family Life Pastor of Calvary Fellowship will coordinate community in the church, ensuring that guests, children, and regular adult attendees find long lasting relationships with God and one another and help to see where their relationship with God can be strengthened. 


The successful candidate for this position will be highly relational, with complementary skills in strategic development. They will possess a pioneering spirit with a strong desire to nurture, expand, and maximize the potential of family life at Calvary Fellowship. The ideal prospect will possess a foundational understanding of systems development and relational management in both congregational and staffing spheres of the church. They will complement the intellectual environment and esteemed culture of West Hartford, and embrace the community and its surrounding regions.


The next Family Life Pastor will possess the following core skills and experience necessary for the position:

  • Bachelor's degree with five years of ministry experience in the areas of Children's Ministry, Youth Ministry, or an equivalent field. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to initiate and implement plan of action.
  • Industriousness in use of time and resources.
  • Evidence of aforementioned experience, skills, and giftedness, which can provide the basis for successfully achieving the purpose of the position.
