Valley View Church seeks a Senior Pastor who will provide ministry leadership in a multi-faceted capacity—as a Leader, Pastor, and Teacher. This individual will possess either First-Chair experience, or acquired experience in an associate pastoral role in a large church setting. They will be highly capable of simultaneously managing church budget expenses, operational elements, teaching responsibilities, and ministry teams. Success in this position will be measured primarily by the physical, spiritual, and relational development of the church and its constituents in alignment with the overall Vision, Mission and strategic initiatives of Valley View Church.

 

The ideal candidate will be a bold visionary and a leader of leaders. They will possess a bachelor's degree (seminary degree is preferred), with a remarkable aptitude for teaching and speaking in a conversational manner. They will be exceptionally relational and intrinsically people-oriented with precedence placed upon ‘names’ over ‘numbers’. Tenacity, agility, and highly effective team building skills are imperative for this role. They will bear a character that demonstrates a relationship with Jesus Christ, guided by a commitment to following the principles spelled out in the Bible for living a life of thankful service to God. Above all, they will possess an upstanding character of integrity and credibility, guided by a sound set of ethical principles. The goals of the Senior Pastor at Valley View Church is as follows, but are not limited to:

 

  • Maintain excellent relationships with staff and elders.
  • Manage a strong, rooted, staff team.
  • Maintain open lines of communication between elders and staff.
  • Build, mobilize, and retain quality volunteers, staff, and elders of the church as the visionary of the organization.
  • Frequently vision cast across the scope of the church.
  • Foster a thriving and high functioning small group ministry.
  • Create stability within the congregation and minimize staff turnover.
  • Offer financial stability to the church through strategic methodologies and constantly monitored assessments.

Located in the bluegrass region of Kentucky, it is one of the oldest cities in the country west of the Appalachian Mountains. With its strategic location, Louisville’s economy has been tied from the early days to its business sector.
