Position Purpose: To be the Lead Worshiper in our Contemporary Service.

Focus: To help develop, launch, lead, and grow a contemporary worship service at BPC that meets the needs of our existing membership and engages the community.
Educational Requirements: College degree preferred
Professional Qualifications: Experience leading a contemporary worship service. Proficient in musical instruments guitar and/or piano.
The primary responsibility of the Worship Leader will be to help plan, coordinate, lead, and grow a weekly contemporary worship service for the church. This role will include coordinating service themes or lessons with the Senior Pastor, as well as coordinating
music with members of the Praise Team, providing lyric slides to audio/visual support staff, interacting with Choir Director and Choir, Youth Minister, Children’s Minister, Worship Committee and Session members. In assisting with the contemporary worship service,
the Worship Leader prays, sings and interacts with Praise Team, Senior Pastor, and congregation to ensure the service flows in a smooth and worshipful manner.
List of Responsibilities:
Assist the Senior Pastor in leading worship for the contemporary service
Responsible for weekly rehearsals with the Praise Team
Develop and recruit musicians from both members and non-members
Help create order of worship for contemporary service
Select worship music for the contemporary service incorporating modern worship music, new hymns, and re-worked/re-imagined hymns
Education/implementation of contemporary style worship music
Make appropriate prayers/comments between songs to enhance the contemporary worship experience
Assist in planning and coordinating all combined and special services as scheduled by the Senior Pastor and Session
Minister to and mentor Praise Team members
Collaborate with Children and Youth Ministries with worship/media needs
Attend weekly staff/planning meetings
Coordinate all audio/visual aspects to contemporary service (i.e. lyric slides)
Assist the Session and Senior Pastor in developing and implementing musical activities that are consistent with our mission and vision statements and that are designed to engage the community. (See attached Vision and Mission Statements)

Hours: 20 hours
