Job Description:
Ministry is booming at New Venture Christian Fellowship! The Palms Bookstore Prayer Center and Connections Cafe needs an excellent and qualified Bookstore / Cafe Manager! The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of retail sales management, bookselling and/or inventory maintenance experience in a Christian Bookstore. This person will provide high quality customer service, maintain and inventory merchandise, and assist with promotional events. Candidate will work with staff, Partners and vendors and must be able to communicate effectively and multi-task successfully under pressure and deadlines. This person will assist in the daily up keep of the bookstore’s appearance, operate the cash register, and must be knowledgeable in new Christian products, best sellers, trends and resources.

New Venture Christian Fellowship is a non-denominational church located in the community of Oceanside, North San Diego County. • Commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
• Minimum three years retail sales management experience or related field.
• Preference given to candidates with large-church related experience.
• Excellent computer skills needed, proficient in Microsoft programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with Bookstore Manager Software a plus.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently at times.
• Must be willing to work on weekends and extended hours if needed to complete assigned tasks/projects.
• Ability to lift heavy boxes/crates of books and items (up to 40 lbs).
• Spiritually mature and able to live a positive Christian lifestyle in accordance with NVCF policies and procedures as stated in employee handbook.
• Passionate celebration and ownership of the vision, mission, values and purposes of NVCF.
• Signed commitment to NVCF’s Statement of Faith.
• Faithfully attend NVCF’s Celebration Services, events and activities.
• Candidates must be local to Southern California and available for immediate full-time consideration.
• All candidates must be able to prove eligibility to work in the United States.
