Hampton, Georgia is where here history has a future. Established in 1873, the city is one of much tradition and history, which also incorporates change. Custom engraved bricks, renovated downtown facades, an old cotton mill converted into modern lofts, and beautiful antebellum historic homes line the streets of Hampton. Its 100+ year-old train depot listed on the National Registry of Historic Places is a landmark unique to this city. Located in close proximity to metropolitan Atlanta, the area enjoys the best of both worlds—an intimate and relational environment with city life merely 30-minutes away from town. The city is home to over 5,000 people, in which the diversified demographic is representative of a Caucasian majority, followed by African Americans (33%), with Hispanic, Asian, and American Indians collectively consisting around 15% of the total. The most common industries are manufacturing, retail trade, and educational services, with popular occupations in the areas of production, education, and sales. Hampton is a growing community working towards retaining their small town atmosphere while moving forward into their future.
