Job Description:

The Youth Pastor is responsible for overseeing, planning, developing, and implementing effective discipleship strategies that systematically develops the youth and equips them as they transition into college, military, work force and young adulthood. Evaluates processes to assure the division supports the mission, vision, and values of the church.

Staff Responsibilities:

  • Support the vision of Senior Leadership
  • Support Church-wide Events
  • Attend staff meetings


Purpose of Position:          

  • To shepherd the teens of EBC by intentionally forming relationships that encourage their growth in the Lord
  • To counsel the teens of EBC through tough experiences and decisions of life
  • To equip the parents of EBC to minister to their children


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Administration of all Youth Ministry Business
  • Effective stewardship of Youth Ministry Budget
  • Planning for 5 Sunday services and 1 midweek Bible Study
  • Planning for annual trips and events
  • Preparing and Delivering Bible-Centered messages with practical application to the lives of Teens
  • Training staff to minister to youth


Specific Duties:

  • Planning logistics of all Youth Ministry events and trips
  • Steward the Youth Ministry’s Resources
  • Manage the paid/unpaid staff of the Youth Ministry
  • Prepare and Deliver weekly sermons
  • Counsel students
  • Visit students at school, in hospital, or in homes
  • Respond to the concerns of parents
  • Managing youth ministry calendar
  • Execute business transactions with vendors
  • Facilitate monthly ministry meetings
  • Assimilate new teens into the ministry
  • Manage youth ministry auxiliaries
  • Partner with other ministries to increase teen involvement church-wide

Possess at least a Masters degree in Ministry (MAM), preferably a Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) or Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree. Four to five years of supervisory and paid staff experience in Christian ministry.
