The mission of Eastern Hills Community Church exists to help people pursue radical transformation by taking their next step towards Jesus. Their vision is to reach out, go deep, and to partner with families.

Eastern Hills Community Church (EHCC) began in the early 1980's with a group of people who had vision to create a ministry in the southeast Aurora area. Eastern Hills is part of the Christian Reformed Church of North America, but in many ways is 'out of the box' from the standard CRC church. The music is contemporary, the teaching topical and relevant, and the weekend services outward focused—with an intentional desire to reach the 92% unchurched population surrounding the church.


Eastern Hills Community Church seeks a Senior Pastor who is passionate, gifted and motivational who will exponentially double the reach, and depth of EHCC. The Senior Pastor, along with and on behalf of the Elders, determines the mission, vision, and strategic objectives of the church. This position will lead the ongoing efforts of the church, and help people pursue radical transformation by taking next steps toward Jesus. They will provide leadership and direction to all of the ministries and activities of Eastern Hills, ensuring that the strategic objectives of each ministry is effectively attained.


This individual will be a player-coach who focuses on the good of the entire organization, while inspiring others to work together to achieve organizational excellence. An upstanding character of integrity and credibility is imperative for this role. They will additionally possess an aptitude for pragmatic problem solving, with an eye to identify untapped opportunities to capitalize within the organization. The prospective Senior Pastor will be preferably married with children at home, for the purpose of relating to the diversely prevalent family dynamic of the church. A bachelor's degree is required for this position (seminary degree is preferable, it is not required). The ideal candidate for this position will be equipped with the following skills:


High-Level Modern Communicator: Ability to connect with people outside the Christian sub-culture through illustrations and general knowledge of culture. They will be passionate about presenting the gospel and possess a Bible-focused preaching style that speaks to the ‘go deep’ vision of the church.
Bold Organizational Leader: Provide clear direction and decision-making in the day-to-day, ongoing work of moving Eastern Hills toward their mission. 
Theologically Sound: Work in agreement with the statement of faith at Eastern Hills, while cultivating an environment of flexibility with major and minor theological topics.
Relational Connection: Connect relationally with the staff, leaders, and congregation of the church, while conveying a warm personal presence that relates well to diverse groups of individuals.
Experienced in Ministry: Possess previous experience in a significant pastoral role at a large church, with preference to multi-site exposure.


Aurora is the 3rd most populous city in Colorado, and the 56th most populous city in the United States (2010 U.S. Census). With close to 300 days of sunshine each year, the city is a premier location for growing families, adventure-loving millenials, professionals, and the prime time adult community. Eastern Hills, located in southeast Aurora is significant in diversity. Its impactful outreach efforts have drawn multi-racial and inter-generational populations into the church, creating connectivity within the community. Both the community of southeast Aurora and Eastern Hills are largely dedicated to the family unit and the retirement community in their city, where family-oriented activities, sports, and recreation take precedence. The city of Aurora ranks in the Top 10 cities for health care anchored by the award-winning Anschutz Medical Campus. It is home to one of Colorado’s best school districts, Cherry Creek, located in southeast Aurora. The University of Colorado, Colorado State University, and the Air Force Academy (USAFA) lead the higher education system of the state. Forbes ‘Best States for Business’ ranks Colorado at #5, with the expectation to have the 6th fastest job growth over the next 5 years.
