Job Description:

First Baptist Church Frisco is a growing church reaching out to the people of Frisco, TX and surrounding cities.  The church is seeking a Technical Arts Director for the Worship Ministry.


Position Summary:   The Technical Arts Director is responsible for maintaining and managing all audio, visual, and lighting systems used for live productions and for managing the technical staff necessary to operate these systems.



1) Experience operating complex audio, video and/or lighting systems, preferably for worship services in a large church environment

2) Experience managing personnel and/or volunteer teams

3) Experience in producing a worship service and/or theatrical production

4) Bachelor’s degree or equivalent trade school or certification training in a technical field of study


Requirements:  This individual should possess good organizational skills, be able to prioritize responsibilities, and meet necessary deadlines.


General Responsibilities of the Technical Arts Director:



  1. Recruit, train, and lead a team of volunteers to provide technical support to all venues including youth and children’s departments
  2. Manage contract FOH Sound Engineers for weekly services and scheduled events
  3. Coordinate and schedule all volunteers for weekly and special services
  4. Facilitate and oversee major productions such as Easter and Christmas
  5. Attend weekly Worship Planning meetings


  1. Create a maintenance schedule for all current AVL equipment and repair or suggest replacement equipment
  2. Create and manage an annual budget for all production and equipment costs
  3. Suggest new and innovative processes and AVL systems
  4. Maintain all equipment and tool storage
  5. Manage media purchases and requests
  6. Create and maintain inventory and warranty information for all AVL assets
  7. Setup, organize and maintain cabling and all stage elements
  8. Assist in designing and building stage design elements
  9. Support all AVL needs church-wide
  10. Produce, record and publish audio and video recordings for the church podcast and live stream



Work Days:  Sunday – Thursday (Occasionally Fridays and Saturdays)


Salary Range:  

           $45,000 - $55,000 based on qualifications
