Bay Area is looking for a Children’s Pastor that is passionate about discipling kids and parents. The Children’s Pastor will set the direction and cast vision for a growing volunteer team to keep pace with the thriving church as it expands for the Kingdom.

Early Childhood
With smiling faces, the amazing volunteers receive mom and dad’s most precious possession into a warm and colorful environment that is well maintained to make parents feel secure and comfortable. Children’s ministry is provided for infants through age 2 at every service.

At the peak of their curiosity, preschoolers have a strong desire to learn more about God and at Bay Area they want them to know Him in a very real way. Utilizing “The Gospel Project” these 3, 4 and 5 year olds are taken chronologically on a journey through the bible in a fun and interactive way. During both Sunday morning services, preschool kids experience a Sunday school type setting with craft, story and activities. The ministry areas are well staffed with dedicated volunteers who love kids and love to teach.

Kids experience Lifegroups and a worship service on Sunday mornings at the 9:30 and 11:00 services. Bringing the Bible to life through “The Gospel Project” curriculum in Lifegroups during one service and a worship service geared toward grade-schoolers at another. There are great volunteer ratios in all of these ministry areas with people who are passionate about presenting the Bible and taking kids deeper into God’s Word. Bay Area offers Kids Clubs for Elementary age kids on Wednesdays, as well.

Bay Area First Baptist has a rich history in the community and has been advancing the kingdom for over 100 years. What started as a small Baptist church in 1887 is now a blossoming and thriving church of 1,000 people each week.

The vision of Bay Area is clear; “We glorify God by making disciples, equipping families, and serving the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.” Discipleship is at the core of everything done at Bay Area. They do this through Lifegroups and Sunday School for every age group. Supporting and equipping parents as they spiritually lead their children is not something Bay Area just talks about; they live it and cast vision around it. This is a church that truly wants to see parents fully embracing, resourced and prepared, for their most important role as the spiritual leader of their kids.

Bay Area has a large, full K-12 Christian school with nearly 800 students. The school plays a strategic part of the overall mission of Bay Area to reach the community for Christ. With a healthy relationship between school, church and ministry-minded school leadership, there is a real mission field and opportunity to reach and develop the next generation everyday, right on the Bay Area campus.

Almost five years ago, Brian Haynes accepted the call to lead Bay Area First as Lead Pastor. He brought his passion to equip families and to see the next generation come to know Christ in a deeper way through the leadership of their parents. On his ministry journey, Brian served as an Associate Pastor overseeing Discipleship and Family before coming to Bay Area. He has written two books, Shift and Legacy Path, to support the local church and equip parents as they are led through Legacy Milestones.
