Bear Creek Community Church seeks a Senior Associate Teaching Pastor who will be part of the Senior Leadership and Teaching Team at Bear Creek Community Church and will be responsible to champion and implement the vision of the church. The Senior Associate
Teaching Pastor will be one of the primary teachers, a primary supporter, and trusted partner of the Senior Pastor while implementing Bear Creek’s vision, philosophy and values. Additionally, the Senior Associate Teaching Pastor will be responsible for coordinating,
communicating, keeping accountable and evaluating the staff members for whom he is responsible.
The intended purpose and outcome of this position is to become the next Senior Pastor of Bear CreekCommunity Church. This candidate would need the heart, desire, patience, and teachable spirit of being mentored by the current Senior Pastor and have the steadfastness
to grow and learn the new role that awaits him. Throughout the training process, they will develop a strategic vision and implementation strategy for a church-wide spiritual formation pathway. As a member of the co-leadership team, they will develop a strong
partnership with the Senior Pastor and serve on the Elder Board, Board of Directors, and the Weekend Teaching Team. In addition to teaching on weekends, they will create pathways to fully engage people to serve, in both local and global capacities.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching, ministry development, team building, discipleship and spiritual formation strategies with proven success in implementing these strategies. The candidate will have a proven track record of
leadership, organizational development and effective communication. They must have strong people skills and a driving passion to reach people far from God and help them grow deeper in their faith. They will embrace the ability to work within a community and
promote innovation through collaboration. The individual will also show an ability to connect across generations. Experience in large church environment and supervisory experience in a multi-staff setting is preferred. Bachelor's degree and seminary training
Bear Creek Church is strategically and centrally located between the cities of Lodi and Stockton, California. Approximately half of the church members live in Stockton and half in Lodi. There is a four mile wide agricultural buffer that separates the two
communities and the church is located in that area. Stockton is a metropolitan community of 300,000+. It is the 13th largest city in California. Stockton is home to the oldest California University, the University of the Pacific, established in 1851. Stockton
is conveniently located 100 miles from Lake Tahoe, 95 miles from Yosemite and 80 miles from San Francisco. Sacramento International airport is a 45 minute drive. Lodi is a smaller town of 63,000+ residents with a dominant race of Caucasians at 53%, followed
by Hispanics at 36%. The estimated household income is $46,924 with a median household value at $229,589. The top three trades among the male population is manufacturing, construction and agriculture. Females largely contribute to educational services, healthcare
and retail trade. Lodi is home to several large businesses including, Sutter Home Winery, Constellation Wines, Blue Shield of California, Archer Daniels Midland and the birthplace of A&W Root Beer and A&W Restaurants established in 1919. In recent years, Lodi
has become a world class wine center. The charming downtown area is the home of numerous restaurants and shops, and a 12 screen cinema. The Lodi Unified School District ranks high in the state. There are several Christian, private and charter schools in the
area. Known for its agriculture, farmers markets, museums, and recreation, and sports teams, Stockton/Lodi is a great area with much growth and prosperity.
