Assimilation Pastor - Houston Area, TX

We have partnered with a large (2,000+) and growing regional church in the Houston, TX area that attracts a blend of rural, ranching, suburban and recreational community residents. The church is very much alive, with a full range of relevant ministries for adults, youth and children as well as the regular experience of seeing people saved weekly.

The church was founded in 2000 by its current Senior Pastor, who has served as a United States missionary to the Rodeo Cowboys from 1988 to date. With a true missionary's heart, the Senior Pastor's goal every weekend is to preach to the person on the back row, who may not be comfortable in a church, so that they will feel the love of Christ. The worship in the 4 weekly services is very eclectic and features excellence, celebration and sensitivity to the Spirit. The staff at the church truly functions as a team, working hard to carry out the mission of reaching, teaching and discipling the wise who still seek Him.

We are helping this church find a leader who will serve as an Assimilation Pastor. The primary functions we see for this position are:

  • Lead the processes that will cover assimilation from parking lot to fully connected member of the church - to life group participation and to serving

  • Lead several key teams such as parking lot team, greeters, ushers, altar teams, etc

  • Oversee the altar process, connecting new believers to next steps

  • Teach next step classes

  • Coordinate all assimilation efforts for the church

We are searching for a candidate who has at least a Bachelor Degree, and who is preferably an ordained minister. We need a true extrovert who is an obvious “people magnet” and who is approachable. This person can easily identify those people in a room who need some guidance and direction, approach them in a natural way and build relationships that result in connection and assimilation. Successful experience leading teams is a must.
