Job Description:

General Description: Casts vision around creating environments where people can experience God and become followers of Jesus. Recruits, empowers, and equips leaders and volunteers to plan, design, and implement all weekend gatherings. Serves on Directional Team.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide oversight of the above-mentioned ministry areas to accomplish The Journey’s mission (helping people find Jesus and follow him fully); through our vision (gather; connect; serve); in the context of our culture (real church for real people).
  • Works with Lead Pastor to develop weekend series ideas and concepts
  • Communicates projects progress with Lead Pastor
  • Oversees the creative teams to develop and implement ideas for weekend series, including graphics and worship elements
  • Recruit and empower creative team to construct and execute stage design
  • Plans and coordinates all weekend gatherings and special events
  • Serves as manager and oversight for all copyrighted material and intellectual property. Ensures legal compliance to the use of copyrighted material.
  • Produce marketing for special events, such as Easter, Christmas, and Baptism Weekends
  • Give final approval for all videos and print pieces
  • Serve as Producer for weekend gatherings
  • Works with Production Director to ensure creative elements are engineered by sound, lighting, and video teams
  • Oversee and manage all production projects, including system upgrades, repairs, and installation, to ensure high levels of quality and preparation
  • Develop team and ensure that all weekend gatherings and events are staffed with appropriate production personnel
  • Serve as primary troubleshooting and management contact for technical systems throughout campus
  • Works with Band Director to develop and maintain the structures and systems
  • Develops and implements the vision for music and worship at The Journey
  • Ensure all worship sets are created in advance and all weekend gatherings are scheduled
  • Maintain budgets for all the above areas and be a wise financial steward of all funds
  • Maintain metrics on all areas of responsibility; prepare reports for Directional Team members on an as-needed basis
  • Perform other leadership functions as assigned

General Responsibilities:

  • Participate in weekly staff meeting and directional team meetings
  • Attend weekend gatherings, lead a small group (J-Group) at least two out of three semesters, and serve in some way outside of essential functions
  • Practice the personal habits of reading the Bible, praying for others, and giving your first
  • Champion gather, connect, and serve
