Willow Creek Community Church (Willow Creek or Willow) is a thriving, multisite church with a weekly attendance of more than 25,000 people. Willow has achieved broad, global influence across a wide range of denominations and throughout the business world as a resource for those seeking to implement 'best practices' in the areas of reaching those far from God through relevant, biblical teaching and weekend services, developing impactful teams, providing world-class leadership training, building organizational excellence, and leading compassion and justice initiatives that change our community and the world. Current Senior Pastor Bill Hybels founded Willow Creek in 1975 and continues to spearhead the leadership of the church, alongside an executive team and a broader leadership team of ministry directors.

Willow Creek Community Church seeks a Teaching Pastor, to serve as one of Willow’s teaching pastors, responsible for teaching at weekend services, midweek services, and occasionally at Willow’s regional locations. This position serves on the teaching and content team and helps determine future message series for the church. With no other departmental or leadership responsibilities, this teacher can fully focus his or her skills and talent to helping people grow deeper in their understanding of Scripture and providing the foundation for them to grow spiritually.

The ideal candidate will be an inspiring, biblical, and relational communicator. This person must have proven experience in teaching and communicating in large venues to sizeable crowds [500 to 8,000 people or more]. This person must be able to step onto Willow’s stage and deliver messages that are consistently “eights” or “nines” on a 10-point scale. The candidate must demonstrate a high bandwidth of teaching formats, including both topical and exegetical styles. This person must be able to teach and connect across multiple generations.

The effective Teaching Pastor will achieve the following goals during the first 24-months of work:
Teaching: “Move the room.” Deliver fantastic messages that connect into the overall discipleship strategy and provide in-depth biblical knowledge that results in attendees becoming more fully devoted followers of Jesus.
Regionals: Develop positive relationships with Willow’s regional congregations.
Teaching & Content Team: Be a positive, value-add contributor to message-series planning. Support other teachers to help them deliver fantastic messages.
Establish Rapport: Build credibility among staff, volunteers, and attendees by being willing to teach to any group, of any size, at any venue, as scheduling allows.
