Job Description:

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4 Northcrest Dr. Clifton Park, NY 12065, is seeking a part-time Contemporary Worship Director. The Contemporary Worship Director will work in conjunction with the pastoral staff and volunteers to continue and enhance the twice monthly contemporary service. Duties include music selection, arranging, distribution of music and lyrics to musicians and AV team, conducting rehearsals, and recruitment of musicians if needed, all to lead the musical portions of the service with a high standard of quality, and to assist worshipers in experiencing God's presence through music and praise. Ability to play keyboards is a big plus.

Providing a high quality contemporary worship service is an important part of fulfilling that purpose. 


This position will open in September. The contemporary service occurs every 1st and 3rd Sunday at the 10:30 AM service except for Palm Sunday, Easter, and the 3rd Sunday of December.



A desire to serve God by serving through the faith community at Prince of Peace.

Experience and ability in leading public worship.

Undergraduate level education in Music, Music Production, Music Education or other applicable field, or significant experience, including the ability to read and arrange music.

Familiarity with the genre of Contemporary Christian Music.

Ability to recruit and support volunteers.

Willingness to work as a part of a ministry team, relating to both clergy and lay leaders.

Willingness to work within the theological and confessional parameters of the ELCA.
