Job Description:

Cedarville University is seeking to hire a Lighting and Systems Coordinator to be responsible for scenic and lighting design/implementation, inventory control, and event rigging.  Other responsibilities include the maintenance and operation of various technical systems related to Production Services. This is full-time, exempt position that reports to the Assistant Director for Production Services.



Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and upgrade of the Chapel and other department related technical systems, in coordination with the Assistant Director
  • Manage and maintain all departmental production lighting systems
  • Provide lighting and scenic support for daily Chapel, conferences, and events
  • Provide lighting systems support for HeartSong ministries
  • Use the CAD system for creating stage/rigging plots and lighting design for events
  • Work various on-campus events as assigned by the Assistant Director
  • Coordination of event load-in and rigging of productions
  • Manage equipment inventory and assist with repair of various technical systems
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors and external organizations e.g. camps, schools, churches
  • Fill in for other areas of production, as needed


Position Requirements:

  • B.A. or comparable past work experience required
  • Experience working live events including e.g. production rigging, lighting, stage management, logistics, etc.
  • Maintain industry standard memberships and certifications
  • Computer literate and familiarity with specific software. E.g. lighting software (High-End Systems), Office, Vectorworks, Filemaker, etc.
  • Organizational skills
  • Strong communication skill
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willing to work flexible hours
  • Ability to set and achieve goals without direct supervision
  • Task-oriented; detail-conscious; able to work well under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills needed both in and out of university environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and extend hands and arms in any direction
