Job Description:

Church on the Ridge is seeking a dynamic individual to minister in a church that runs nearly 800 people on Sundays and is only 11 years old.  We are externally focused and geared for those new to the things of Christ.  Snoqualmie Ridge is a growing, new community that sits in a picturesque setting 30 minutes from of downtown Seattle.


Purpose of Position:

Provide dynamic, visionary leadership to empower and equip the small groups and discipleship ministry. Align all adult group ministries in a common direction, consistent with the mission, vision and core values of Church on the Ridge.



Specific Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all Community Groups
  • Develop Leaders for areas of oversight
  • Develop excellent teams for the work of the ministry (based on Ephesians 4:11-13) to:  Plan and implement strategies for group leadership development, apprentice development, and         group multiplication.  Evaluate learning needs of group leaders and facilitate training
  • Work collaboratively with Director of Guest Relations, Missions coordinator, and other ministry leaders
  • Implement ongoing group evaluation process to spur growth and spiritual maturity
  • Organize and Deploy Quarterly Group Link
  •  Develop and execute a successful and measurable Discipleship System
  • Effective and systematic follow up with individuals needing to:  Join a CG.  Grow in their maturity in Christ.  Be developed for leadership and ministry opportunities.  
  • Effective and efficient operation within COTR’s database
  • Plan and Manage COTR’s CG Community Service Days
  • Assist in presenting excellent Front Room, Living Room and Kitchen events
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work with or without admin support
  • Passionately communicate vision for discipleship of adults in biblical community
  • Disciple and empower team leaders for men’s, women’s, and other affinity type groups to align activities with the vision of COTR
  • Other duties as assigned

Time Requirements:


Exempt-Full Time, Exempt employees are generally expected to devote the number of hours necessary to complete their respective tasks. To include weekend and evening hours. Commit the time necessary to accomplish the General and Specific tasks with integrity and excellence.

  • Genuine servant leader with eagerness to release volunteers and see them succeed
  • Effective written and verbal communicator who consistently encourages and supports others

  • Excellent interpersonal/relational skills
  • Demonstrated willingness to continue learning; teachable spirit, humble, spiritually mature
  • Beliefs consistent with COTR’s “Statement of Belief”

Skill and Experience:

  • Having led CG or Small Group ministry at other churches (size: 500-1000 Sunday attendance) for at least 5 years
  • Having led or developed or instituted a successful Discipleship plan in previous church ministry
  • Having worked on a pastoral team at least 5 years
  • Competent in basic MS office, can work with and meet budget, can set budget, can recruit and train leaders, energetic, personable, strong leader
  • Minimum of a BA degree. M.Div preferred
